I've got 62.5ug tablets from myprotein. I'm sporadic at taking them so sometimes double up. I think that might be 5000iu. Should really take a test to see how that figures in winter.

i'm glad this thread has popped up again, I got told in Aug 2021 I was deficient (by a fairly visibly shocked consultant, they check it as routine on first bloods for this particular hospital after referral) & to take 50ug but not given the actual result or rechecked when I next had bloods done. After seeing this thread previously & reading through the arguments and evidences provided (thank you all) I upped the dose I was taking to 75ug from Jan 2022 & have continued with that.
I chased for rechecking in May this year as I didn't know if i'd improved at all & then took several months of chasing to get the actual results of both tests, it was 42 in Aug 2021 & 73 in May 2022 so pretty rubbish so i'm keeping on and going to retest into the new year & see where i'm at

How were you functioning?! Have you been retested to see where you're at now?

(btw I think my endo consultants shock was because this was the end of August when it should have been peak ish levels, so quite possible i'd be in a similar boat if i'd tested in Jan & i'd not started supplements)

this has taken me ages to reply to sorry thanks to the forum software. seems it does not like the correct spelling of the word sleeep!

i wasn't really functioning, which was the problem!

i was suffering from dreadfully low energy, mega brain fog and workdays were a real hassle. this had been going on a while actually but i had other things going on in the background which i thought were the cause.

i had a full set of bloodwork and other tests done including thyroid function, testosterone count etc. the only thing which was out of normal range was the vitD.

back then i was prescribed daily tablets but i was terrible at taking them. around june time i went back and same issue and my gp suggested the shots so i didn't have to remember with the pills.

first day after a shot i am jittery AF. thereafter i sleep like a baby, feel refreshed when i wake up, can go all day on a few hours sleeep.

i went over the due date for last month's booster. that week i was lethargic, afternoons were a struggle, fell asleep in the office once, poor sleep patterns and waking 1-3 times per night, napping when i got in from work etc. then it twigged and i got the shot on the way home, back to normal energy and sleeep, boshed 40km on the pushbike the next evening after work no issue then slept 8hrs straight.

haven't had a recent test but will be doing so before xmas. does seem to have a massive impact on me and what i'm able to achieve both in and out of work, so i'm keen to get it as high as i can.

That must be the placebo effect; it takes several weeks for the liver and kidneys to convert oral or injected vitamin D to the active form.
