Do you think people would be paying over £10k for hair transplants in the UK if they didn’t care? Yes of course it effects some people badly, if you’re not one of them, lucky you..l
It does seem odd, though, given that so many men are now shaven-headed. Baldness in men is very common, is there really a stigma about it?
It’s not stigma as much, more the long term effects on self esteem and confidence.

Ok, but I'm not sure that a temporarily thicker thatch of hair that needs far more horticultural-esque attention and £££s than your lawn is enough to address those issues.

The long term effects on people who already have a tendency towards low self esteem and confidence...that's probably more accurate?

Cupraben fair play for posting pics and your personal experience. I think it looks great and if it’s what you wanted more power to you.
I’m lucky and have crazy thick hair so not an issue (I’m 53 soon). Just wanted to say found this very interesting and thanks for enlightening me.

The best advice on this thread, and, the option to try first is, to shave it off, see how you feel, how it looks. You have nothing to lose!

I did it via clippers. Take it down to a grade 2, and keep reducing it until you’re at zero.

My shaven head... is the best, most fashionable haircut I ever had laugh

My friend had it done in Turkey. Hurt for a few days. He looks fine now, just like before he had the implants. I tried to convince him not to bother, but it was obviously important to him.

But it depends on the person. Some don't look so good without hair, for example Prince William.

Totally agree, but, it's worth finding out. Prince William doesn't look good, because he's holding on to the hair he has left, that's also what can age you, not having any at all can reverse that.

Like before he had the implants, or like before he lost hair?

I think he had been losing hair for years. Slow loss. Then he saw a photo of the back of his head, and that shocked him into action.

My opinion? No one, other than the balding person, cares.

My opinion too. It's just a feature. A fairly common feature.

The main issue with me is I'm 37 but genuinely look about 20.

I have shaved my head- at the beginning of the lockdown and it really doesn't look nice. I don't look like Jason Statham- I just look like a yob.

I've taken to using a Bic razor every day in the shower on mine. TBH it's so easy I'd probably do the same even if the hair decided to grow back hehe

An outrageous claim, I think you should let us be the judge of that smile

I’m confused. You’re 37 but look 20....and you want a hair transplant?

Yep. Baby faced but with slightly better hair than Prince William.

Also if he grew some facial here it offsets the lack of hair on top.

One of my businesses is a hair salon and I still do cut once a week, none of my large male clientele have never had it done although some do question it.

My theory is it probably isn’t that different to me getting my eyes lasered. I just bloody hated wearing glasses and no matter what style I bought I thought I just looked like a tt.

I’ve a receding hairline (thanks dad!), it doesn’t concern me much being a married father but I suspect if I was single it might. Enough for an operation? Probably not.

But we’re complicated animals. I think the sporadic results would put me off. Fair enough if 3 grand buys you 10 years of hair but 18 months would be a joke!

I lost mine at 17. Got it tattooed back on lolol sounds utterly bizarre but nobody has questioned it in 10 years except the usual why do you shave your hair so short. Can have it removed via laser in one session aswel, had a few alterations over the years. I wouldnt have bothered now I'm over 30 but it's a hard pill to swallow being the only 17 year old in the country not needing any ID lol
