Not sure if it's worth it at my age as I'm not looking to go back to my 18 year old hairline but just improve the temple areas.

waits for someone to say that’s not nw2.5 it’s 3 biggrin

It would look better if you got it done. However, you still have plenty of hair left so you'd have to be using medications to help minimise further loss.

If my hair remained like that I'd be perfectly content with it.

Far too many hair transplants have ludicrous straight lines across the top and barely anyone beyond 50 has a real hairline like that.

My grandad the day he died in his 90s had a ludicrously perfectly straight hairline and head of hair. Some people do. I was bald by 21 however lol.

Agreed. If I ever get a transplant I want it to look age appropriate/natural.

That's why you need to select a good surgeon. A good surgeon will do that for you and it's one of the points they call out right from the start i.e. make it age appropriate.

I am 49 in September, my hairline has been pretty much like that for over 20 years and hasn't really changed. I did go through a period about 20 years ago where I was convinced I was going bald, but it hasn't got any worse.

My hair still hasn't gone grey, and at my age I would take my hair any day of the week.

I feel rather fortunate.
66 with a great head of hair.
Losing colour, but still loads of it.

We go to Turkey, Marmaris twice a year almost, and know many Turkish there.

With some of our friends there, we talk about various people who have had hair transplants, and how good they look.

We were there just a couple of weeks ago, and they were quoting prices circa £500 to £750 for someone who wanted the foreheads doing, both sides where the hairline recedes.
Istanbul is the place. I think the Turkish hair doctors have got it nailed with the success factor, so rates are tumbling.

The big money that you need to pay is for the crown, the Turkish surgeries are pretty good at doing the hairline but I have not met anyone who went to Turkey that was happy with the crown.

I noticed on 8 out of 10 Cats Countdown last night that Jimmy Carr's hair already seems to be disappearing again

I'm a Norwood 5 I reckon. Ironically I did have really thick hair before the receding started in my early 20's. I currently bic it every few days so it's no Biggie, but is it possible to go to a Norwood 3? And at what cost roughly? Cheers

I'd guess I'm an advanced norwood 2 at the age of 47...is it likely I'll get much worse or does the hair loss rate slow down?

I'm bald. I have the odd strand on top but really its gone. Back n sides intact fully. Is that even possible to get a decent looking head of hair? Iv already had smp so I suppose density could be less to avoid "shine through"

I think the best choice is to shave your head with no guard. It’s not worth the hassle to wet shave it given how long it takes vs how quickly it grows back.

If that’s not an option, I’d recommend researching a hair system which is far more palatable than having to undergo surgery which may cost a lot of money and produce poor results.

The main one is the speed with which the surgeon can remove a follicle and re-place it into the right location.
