I lost mine at 17. Got it tattooed back on lolol sounds utterly bizarre but nobody has questioned it in 10 years except the usual why do you shave your hair so short. Can have it removed via laser in one session aswel, had a few alterations over the years. I wouldnt have bothered now I'm over 30 but it's a hard pill to swallow being the only 17 year old in the country not needing any ID lol
Looks good that, there's a guy at the gym who has had his tattoo'd and its glaringly obvious. I thought about having mine done, but being ginger, when I BIC it the follicles disappear, and the tattoo'd dots would probably look like freckles (I have them also)

Wow, never seen that before. Is that just a grey colour/shade all over? Or has it been done as individual dots? Presumably a much cheaper option than a transplant. Mind you I’d be wary of the laser removal, my mrs had laser treatment for a tattoo she hated. Took about 15 sessions and was never completely removed, she said it was much more painful than the original tattoo.I’ve had thinning hair since my early twenties, met my wife and got married at 25. Had hair in my wedding photos and then shaved it all off the day after. Been shaving it off ever since and hasn’t bothered me but as someone else said may have been different if I’d been single at time. Having said that the bald head has always been completed by some sort of facial hair to stop my head becoming totally featureless!

Actually going to get some removed in the next year or 2, may need a slightly more mature hairline since I'm getting on now..

That's another point- can't grow serious stubble. Well can moustache and goatee but none on cheeks..... Proper baby faced!
How long have you given it ?Most blokes get to the itchy stage then give up , if the cheeks are patchy use a brush to brush it in the direction you want it a few times a day.

One of my businesses is a hair salon and I still do cut once a week, none of my large male clientele have never had it done although some do question it.
My theory is it probably isn’t that different to me getting my eyes lasered. I just bloody hated wearing glasses and no matter what style I bought I thought I just looked like a tt.
I’ve a receding hairline (thanks dad!), it doesn’t concern me much being a married father but I suspect if I was single it might. Enough for an operation? Probably not.
But we’re complicated animals. I think the sporadic results would put me off. Fair enough if 3 grand buys you 10 years of hair but 18 months would be a joke!
That's the trouble isn't it , you spend all that money on a transplant and i bet you still worry if anyone can tell .My theory is it probably isn’t that different to me getting my eyes lasered. I just bloody hated wearing glasses and no matter what style I bought I thought I just looked like a tt.

Screw that , buzz cut it mega short for a bit then shave it all off then you know where you are , no more worrying if people can tell .
I've gone from skin fade hard partings to skin fade french crops then during the lockdown just did a grade a grade 3 and now a grade 1 all over and i quite enjoy not having to fanny around with pomade or wax , just out the shower and it's dry and ready to go .

I tried them, still have them but wasn't short enough for my liking.
I think if you’re actually trying to ‘hide’ the baldness you have to BIC it off. But if you don’t mind showing a bit of male pattern baldness and just want it short a good set of clippers on blade only (no comb attachments) is good enough.I generally use the Wahl clippers and only bic it for special occasions (or if I want to look cool/trendy )
I had a bald patch on my crown (aged 46), getting thinner and thinner over the years. Friar Tuck jokes galore. Tried shaving my whole head getting shorter and shorter, but the wife didn't like that - just looked like a thug.
So, I decided to give finasteride a try. 5 weeks in and there is already a noticeable growth of hair on the once bald patch. I bought a 6 month supply, so will give it that time and see what it is like.
No side effects at all.

Several friends have had eyes done. One of my mates was terribly short sighted (the one where you can't see distance.?).
Without her glasses she was a danger to herself. Very thick lenses even with the best tech.
If she had ever forgotten her contacts or glasses she would be in serious trouble...say staying away somewhere and had her bag stolen. She wouldn't have been able to find her way out of a room (I'm exaggerating a bit...but you get the point..)
Another friend was in a similar position. Stayed over at mine once and had some issue with contact lenses (cant remember exactly what..). We had to traipse round five opticians in St Albans until we could find one that stocked the required super-strength lens and was prepared to sell without a prescription.
Quite a medical/safety issue (in these cases) and/or a real improvement in their quality of life. Hair - not in the same category there at all.

I’ve never given a moments thought to whether anyone can tell. Because surprisingly no one actually gives a st about other people’s hair Screw that , buzz cut it mega short for a bit then shave it all off then you know where you are , no more worrying if people can tell .

A small percentage of eye laser surgery have complications though, either at the time, or long term.Several friends have had eyes done. One of my mates was terribly short sighted (the one where you can't see distance.?).

At least with hair it's only going to be aesthetic.
If your friend lost her specs of contacts, she would just need to head to the nearest opticians. She could phone a taxi to get her there.

But it depends on the person. Some don't look so good without hair, for example Prince William.
Prince William looks fine now he's cut it really short. Looked ridiculous when he was making the mistake of trying to pretend he wasn't balding. Someone upthread said it didn't bother him as he was married, but it might have done if he was single. But why? Lots of bald men say women don't go for bald men. I think most of the time, it's that women don't go for men who lack confidence, and the certainly don't go for bald men pretending not to be bald. That's why they don't get the women. But bald men who don't care do just fine.
And for every woman that genuinely doesn't like bald men, they'll be another who prefers it.
