How long did it take to receive your COVID test result?
Discussion
Took my 11 year old for one a week ago today, as she had a headache, and the school said she couldnt come back without a positive test (and sent my son home at lunchtime until she did...)
I ended up with my daughter and my ex with our son (which was fine in itself) and it took 5 days for the result to come back.
Which was a long time since we were under isolation orders until it came back, she started missing mummy etc and I started worrying myself about the test being lost and me having to drive an hour for a 2nd test with a little girl who now know how much it hurts when 'daddy stuck the brush up my nose twice and counted to 20...'
Can see it easily ruining someones week/day/month. Couldn't chase it up either. I rang a number and did get through to someone MEGA quick, but he couldnt access the results either, alhough he did take all my details again to ensure the system was going to text the right number, which was nice.
TLDR - 5 and a bit days for results here (from the Bicester site. Imagine having a covid testing site at a school, must be odd for the pupils (and me, driving through campus at lunchtime with people EVERYWHERE and not knowing if we were infected or not...)

My wife is just about to take my son to hospital for a test, last Friday his mate thought it funny to cough into his face, he had a stinking cold at the time. Started going down with cold like symptoms last night, his school say he's not to come in until his symptoms have gone, the ball ache is that he's right in the middle of GCSE course work.

Have a test booked (Hampshire) tomorrow morning 11am. Be interesting to see how the turnaround time compares.
So all went well apart from the result. Yesterday at 11am my wife and I got tested at the local drive through centre.10 minute drive and about 15 minutes start to finish. Results came through at 6am this morning - so whats that about 19 hours or so?. Both positive but given how crap we've been feeling, we pretty much expected it.

Did my drive thru test in Gloucestershire on Tuesday - still no news :-(
When I put the swab in the plastic vile (which had fluid in it) the fluid went red - which sort of concerned me (with red normally being associated with danger!) did anyone else experience this?
Oh!.......Bad luck....you're pregnant....When I put the swab in the plastic vile (which had fluid in it) the fluid went red - which sort of concerned me (with red normally being associated with danger!) did anyone else experience this?
ETA - Sorry I meant to put this in too. My sister in laws whole family were tested, took between 2 and 4 days to come back in Cheltenham.....they were all negative. I don't know anyone personally who has come back positive!
