I had glandular fever not long after I graduated. It sounds remarkably similar. Once I got over the worst of it I found I got fatigued remarkably easily.
I’d previously drive from Glasgow to Chester where the plant was located. That typically left me really knackered for days after. Likewise consuming alcohol was not good and left me lethargic, so I avoided that.

15 months in and still no sign of improvement.

Came down with Covid at Easter before I was vaccinated, didn’t suffer too much (just like any other Flu really) but even now I don’t think I’ve got quite the same energy levels as I had previously - The biggest issue for me is that I developed Tinnitus as I was recovering and still have it now…

We're you all vaccinated before getting it ?
How long was it before you could smell/taste again ?
I got a positive result Thursday so in quarantine , it just feels like a cold and I'm far better today than middle of the week.
No, had the vax a couple of months ago. Only lost taste for a couple of days but felt dreadful for 3 weeks, could climb a flight of stairs after 6 weeks. How long was it before you could smell/taste again ?

Tues - evening started sneezing felt bunged up
Weds- felt like a cold so wore facemask at work , did 2 lateral flow tests and pcr all 3 came back positive , felt bunged up just like a cold , couldn't taste but that's same with a cold.
Thurs - Bunged up feeling seemed to eased of bit , sleeping fine , bit of a cough but its no different to my asthma cough , can't taste/smell anything
Fri - feel pretty much normal other than taste/smell
Sat - feel fine other than taste/smell

Seems to affect different people differently. Mrs G and son no1 tested positive at the same time as me but only had a mild cough for a couple of days. They did have the flu jab before xmas so I don't know whether that helped or not.Tues - evening started sneezing felt bunged up

No injection, had it in March last year. Taste came back properly after about three weeks. How long was it before you could smell/taste again ?

I thought I had “long Covid”, however in hindsight I think it was due to the lack of exercise and movement causing me to become unfit.

Researchers in the US actually think the two are linked, with some interesting data to back up the hypothesis that Long Covid is actually a reactivated glandular fever infection - the virus which causes it, Epstein-Barr never leaves your body. It's been observed in the past times of stress can cause Glandular fever to relapse, and there looks to be a strong possibility we're seeing similar effects with Covid.I’d previously drive from Glasgow to Chester where the plant was located. Hi Folks
My doctor has determined that I suffer from long covid.
I am over 50 years of age and first tested positive in February this year, although I didn't go to hospital.
I had my 2 injections in March and May and on both occasions had to take time off work because I was not well - dizziness, issues with memory and concentration, tiredness, and sleepless nights. I still suffer from those symptoms every now and again.
My doctor has now referred me to a post Covid clinic for which I am waiting for an appointment.
Some days I feel fine and other days I feel exhausted, lack of energy, sleepless night, concentration issues and forgetfulness. When this happens I usually have to ring my manager at work to let him know I'm not well enough to come to work. I am beginning to think that I may loose my job due to this.
Is anyone else going through the same experience as myself?
Thanks

I had covid in July, haven't been right since. In fact covid itself was a breeze compared with the after effects.
9 weeks of fatigue, no appetite, still no full taste & smell, killer headaches that nothing will touch, non productive cough, muscle and joint aches, sore neck, earache and pain in the middle of my back made worse if I take a deep breath.
Finally got a gp to speak to me today, I've just been for a chest x-ray, got blood tests booked for Friday and a face to face on the 4th. She did say they don't tend to do anything till you've hit 12 weeks, but the thing she was filling out on the computer said she needed to see me.
So it's a waiting game to see what comes of this. She did give me the following website, I've not checked it out yet....

51, double jabbed (March and June), no other health issues, all the above are post covid

Sorry to hear this but it’s pretty common. I see it every day at work. The 12 week thing is because the infiltrates in the lungs can take up to 12 weeks to resolve, so if it’s still there at 9 weeks it may still completely resolve. Post COVID symptoms vary from mild to more severe. Chest physician / lung clinic follow up is recommended if your symptoms continue after 3 months.
Just back from my GP, apparently my chest xray is fine, my bloods are overall good, but my kidney function is only 54, so she's thinking chronic kidney disease as a lot of the symptoms are the same, so I need a repeat blood test this Friday and urine dips. She wants to investigate this before she refers me to the long covid team.
Apparently my last blood test in 2012 had a lowish figure of 63 but within normal ranges so it could just be natural decline or could be ckd we just don't know yet.
Not quite what I was expecting this morning.

I had a blood test done and I have B12 deficiency.
I have an inherited problem manufacturing VB12. My elder brother has it significantly worse and requires injections every 6 weeks, but had found he might require them more frequently. He turned yellow, was treated for jaundice and nearly died.Your symptoms certainly match ours, and more so my brother's. It could be down to that.
It's treatable but in our case not curable. Pills work for me, injections were required for him. His was exacerbated by breathing in lead. Stress makes it worse.
Diet is important.
Might be temporary for you, but I'd perhaps ask about it.
Back in the day, a couple of blokes - affects mainly men evidently - in my family had to eat raw liver daily. Those days have passed.
Best of luck.
I had something in March 2020. Not sure if it was covid as I didn't have a "new continuous cough" or a fever and they were they only symptoms being talked about at the time. I just felt utterly frozen to the core, very delicate and achy, like when you have flu but it went away after a week or so without developing into full blown flu. Then came lockdown. What I noticed after starting to get out for walks is the variation in tiredness levels. I've been for long walks in the Yorkshire Dales and felt absolutely fine, other than that kind of "good tired" that you feel after a day of exercise and fresh air, but also been for 20 minute walks around my neighbourhood and felt so debilitated and out of breath that I started to wonder if I'd even make it home. There's no rhyme or reason to it and I'm still like this now.
