I’m in, plan is to start on Wednesday as tomorrow is my birthday.
Current weight 17st 6lb’s
Goal’s: March 31st down into the 15st range and I will start running again. Got to halve marathon distance in the summer and was regularly running 10k, but took it’s toll on my knees as was still 16st 7lb’s.
Target by the summer 14st
The plan is I will be going 3 x Huel shakes a day only until 31st March.
Wish me luck!
Quick update from me, down to 16st 12lb as of Friday 22nd Jan. Decided to only "Huel" Monday to Friday, with Weekend normal but reduced biscuit intake , seems to be working well. Current weight 17st 6lb’s

Anyway I've managed to keep my average daily calorie consumption down at 984 this week. A sneak preview on the scales suggests that I'll hit my target tomorrow so all is good. Still no alcohol
Well done. Genuine curiosity here, and not a jibe... I've always understood that less than 1200 calories is not recommended? I only ask as I'm trying to eat 1300-1500 a day, and sometimes that feels like more than I need. I've had the odd day where 900-1000 was plenty? W201_190e said:

I don't really pretend to be an expert or even know what I'm doing. I bounce ideas of my elder sister who is a doctor so I don't think she'd be happy to let me do something that is clinicly wrong. The most exercise I get is rowing machine daily, more to keep my joints in order than for calorie use. In the summer I do a bit of gardening but nothing too strenuous so I don't need much intake. I do make sure that I eat good stuff and I don't try to leave out anything I really like, except the vino.
Once a long time ago I worked for four years in Nigeria where it was difficult to get good food but easy to get lots of booze and have a lazy life style with lots of 'staff' to do the work. I arrived at about eleven and a half stone and came back home at fourteen plus.
I then went to work in Saudi where I ate good food, didn't drink and played squash for 2 hours a day, six days a week. In six months my weight went down to a fit eleven stone. Now that makes you think when you're checking in your suitcase and realize that you used to carry that 21kg around on your body 24/7.
So when I finished work three years ago and on my 50th wedding anniversary I decided that eighteen plus stones was not going to be conducive to a long happy retirement. So my previous experience of getting fitter by eating properly and not drinking clicked in and here I am today well on the way down from 118 kg to 80.
In a nutshell, it works for me ha ha !
After years of minimal success with moderate diets, hovering around 28BMI, I decided to go hardcore in Feb and see what is actually possible as a benchmark. Totally cut out sugar, red meat, white flour, white rice, bread, most wheat. Lots of fatty fish. Eating veg meals at least half the time. I'm not counting calories.
I find it much easier than past attempts at moderate diet. Part of the battle is always mentally weighing up whether I can cheat or not. Not such an issue right now and lost 5kg so far.
No idea if it's sustainable but almost enjoying the learning experience.

Argh, not gone well this week - now 1.2kg up on where I was at the start of the year.
I did, however, recently get a 5km run PB (21:09) and my most recent FTP test on Monday wasn't a total disaster at 276W (down 10 from my best ever) so I'm not too cut up about it. Very frustrating though, I'm super impressed with all of you who are managing decent calorie deficits, not proving easy for me even with a target of 1,680 and regular exercise...

Diet is changing as of Monday for me. This is the last week of keto for a while at least. Bringing the carbs back in but will be continuing doing what I have been for the past few weeks: sub 1000 cals (aim for 800) per day from 2 meals through the week and then relaxing with those 2 meals at weekends and having a few drinks.
It's worked quite well and I've managed it ok to be fair. First proper play with IF and it has been positive so far.

February has been a disappointing month. Having lost 6kg in January and started February at 80.2kg, I’m finishing it at 80.4kg.
Not really a surprise as I did go off the rails and had some incredibly unhealthy days (whole boxes of chocolates and large bags of crisps, on top of normal meals) but I have kept the exercise up and alcohol intake has been stayed much lower than it was last year. Just disappointing after managing to lose so much last month to go back up again this month.
Plan is to try and reach 77kg by the end of March. Had been hoping to get to 75kg by then but that isn’t going to happen now. Time to refocus!
