I'm a couple of weeks in and still well motivated. Having a day off a week helps, so usually one day on the weekend I don't track anything, otherwise it's been MFP all the way. Started out at 88kg and now at just below 85, so things are definitely moving in the right direction.

I've been struggling to get enough protein in and also found I'm way short on calories on the days I exercise, which leads to an urge to snack on fast acting calorie hits, aka sugars and carbs. I'll keep working to get on top of all that as the better I do at that, the more sustainable everything is.

Weights and running are going OK - I'm really just trying to be consistent, if not spectacular! I did manage to do a gym session at 7.30 last night. The urge to stay on the sofa was strong, but I did get up! Hurrah.

Really struggling at the moment. I don’t like my gym is limited to 50 minute slots. It’s crap.

But slot booked tomorrow, Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

Saturday and Sunday I may pop to the work one after depending how it goes.

Last couple of weeks have been st with work. Late off four out of six shifts. Dealt with some stty stuff and decided to comfort eat whilst typing up. Result is my weight is back to 141kg.

Dont beat yourself up...

141kg... 22 stone... thats not great but its not bad you can still do something about it... use the gym and make up alternative plans that you can follow if not going to the gym. And stop eating ! really ! stop eating...... crap ! that was my downfall. healthy option and it can be done... dont feel like cooking... is there any M&S garages ? buy some chicken and a salad... If I can then anyone can as i was a greedy pup.. could do an extra deep all the toppings pizza in one sitting... I still could but I dont. discipline and determination... But dont beat up on yourself we all go through it. But it is not the end of the world..... !

Onwards and downwards..

In December 2020 I was 6ft 2 and 20st 3 now I'm down to 17st 10, I feel lighter and look a lot leaner. Now here comes the strange bit. I have a spinal injury awaiting surgery and can't walk very well, I haven't been able to run in over two and half years, can't lift anything over 5kg and haven't played sport in nearly three years.

I haven't changed my eating habits at all, the only thing I take is a green tea supplement, Vitamin D and Zinc/Magnesium supplement. I'm drinking a lot more fluids but that's about it.

I mean over two and half stone in five months isn't bad without trying. Thinking of getting a test to check if I'm Type 2 Diabetic

Dragged myself to the gym and glad I did! 50 minute slots aren’t ideal but better than nothing.

I’ve decided to start with Strong Lifts. I like weights and figured if I do something I enjoy then I’ll continue to go.

Finished with ten minutes on the treadmill. Mostly a walk but 3 and a half minutes jogging. I’m going to go tomorrow for just cardio as I need to work on that as well. I’m not too fussed about my overall weight. Just want to be fitter more than anything.

Back to MFP as well.

I'm doing stronglifts too. Slightly frustrating initially as everything is easy, but it's worthwhile I found. I've not had doms once as I've just been slowly upping the challenge. For me, my target is bodyweight x1.5 or more eventually but in the interim its hitting 3x sessions per week consistently. I love it.

And another for stronglifts as well. Always nice to be squatting 30kg when the girl next you is doing 80kg biggrin

I add in a couple of extra targeted shoulder/back/chest work (depending on A or B) after each on as a 40 minute workout that includes 10mins of stretches at the start doesn't feel enough. I'm sure that'll change as the weight increases though.

Back training/coaching kickboxing (and sparring!!) three/four times a week again as well for cardio.

If you use an apple watch I can recommend the Loseit! (calorie and exercise tracking) app which I find a lot more user friendly than MFP and 'Strong' for capturing gym routines - the stronglifts A/B 5x5 routines come free as standard as well.

6'1" went from 100kg to 90kg on the 2020 thread before lockdown and back up to 100kg before the gyms opening. Now at 97kg.

Enjoying getting fit again. And as above, no DOMS so far.

Day two of StrongLifts.

Tried to do it at the work gym and a complete fk up.

We don’t have a squat rack...no problem I’m only squatting light weights I’ll just lift it over my head. Fine for the first set...fked on the second set though!

Ended up doing it with dumb bells which isn’t ideal. But got it done.

Went to go for a ten minute jog on the treadmill and it’s broken...kept sticking at a certain point and almost threw me off the back!

I’ll be back on Monday at the proper gym. Although they only have a smith machine which isn’t ideal either.

Went to the gym on Monday and went well.

StrongLifts said to rest until today. I’ve not been 100% so going tomorrow instead. Got two weeks off work as well so can fit it in nicely.

Will be day four of StrongLifts tomorrow.

Will do some running as well after.

Good stuff LG.

My target of 12 stone is just beyond reach. Sat at 12st 2 for the last few weeks biggrin. Did get to 12st 1.9 last week so will see tomorrow how I get on.

Look at either adjusting your intake and dropping it slightly or increasing your expenditure. That’s what worked for me in the past.

A short sharp diet break also helped too, moved intake to maintenance for a week and then back to a deficit.

Hovering around 66kg currently, I want to try and get down to 65 by July as that will mean 20kg drop over 2 years of on and off effort. Ultimate goal is to build so e muscle mass though, had 4 weeks off whilst I was fasting and wiped out any microscopic gains I’d made before so need to ease myself back into it

Get some Klean Prep. Take three doses as directed**. Don't eat or drink anything other than Klean Prep.
GUARANTEED you'll be under 12 st on the scales then! ** Be very close to the stter. wink

Annoyingly got to the gym today and there were a group of sixth formers fking about. One set and then spent the rest chatting up the girl that was in there. One set and repeat.

Managed goblet squats with a 40KG dumbbell and then decided to go for a run. 29 minutes following week one day one of couch to 5k.

Stopped off at the works gym to finish the StrongLifts with Overhead Press and Deadlifts as the group were pissing me off to much.

Food wise yesterday was shockingly bad. Thankfully all the chocolate has been eaten now so can’t be tempted!

Another day of StrongLifts. Squat was 42.5kg. Bench was 35kg and Rows were 45kg.

Week one day two of Couch to 5k. Bit annoying as had to do my five minute warm up. Leave for ten minutes whilst they cleaned and then go back.

Felt better than day one. Jog was 8km and walk was 5km. Concentrated on my breathing as normally I get out of breath really easily and panic.

2.8km covered. Slightly more than last time.

Well this year started well and has since gone to total ratst. I have a cycling event in two weeks time over the Surrey hills so really need to shift some weight ASAP.

Let’s see how much we can turn this around...

When people are phone watching, chatting up other members or bigging their egos in the mirror, I ask them if they've finished so I can crack on with my sets. One guy in particular spends >5 minutes to do 2 sets of 5 reps on his lats ... fking fanny. laugh
