I dont drink alcohol, no sugary drinks, no fast food (McD, Pret etc), no processed food or ready made meals.
The rest of my body is fine (except chin area).
The stupid pot belly makes me suck in my stomach which in turn leads to a cramped/hunched shoulder posture which in turn...

What am I doing wrong, what should I be doing?

No just unsightly fat which moves when I am laying on my side. It is fat, not the stomach being pushed forward by the spine.

Too many carbs? Snacking between meals?

Carbs - yes, bread, potatoes, pasta.

And chocolate.

I am fat anyway but I've noticed bread in particular makes me really bloated. A considerable amount of what I eat has bread in it as well.

That's your problem then (refined carbs). Replace with whole grains, and maybe try the keto diet. When I went down to 2 meals per day the results were very impressive.

Eat a breakfast every day

Go for bananas if you ever feel hungry between meals.

Walk 45-60mins a day - should be about 3 miles. Do this 7 days a week / every day and you’ll be surprised

I lost a stone in 2 weeks simply by eating smaller healthier meals and virtually cutting out carbs. I had to stop drinking alcohol as well but do have a few at the weekend.

Being fat is down to calories in > calories out, poor tone is down to lack of exercise. I'm afraid it really is that simple. smile

All good advice - particularly on the bread!

But you need to exercise the gut area as well.

It's the only part of your body that isn't directly connected to bone and as we get older, the muscles that keep everything in place slacken which pulls you forward which accentuates the problem - a particular problem in taller men (See Jeremy Clarkson for more information - the guy's not fat but his belly is trying to escape).

Walking and diet will shed any excess fat. Core and Back exercise will tidy everything up.

Just have meals. I don't eat breakfast tbh, just not hungry ever in the morning, occasionally have a protein yogurt. So I eat a decent sized lunch, and a decent sized dinner and don't snack once and weight just falls off.

Thank you, Stevie!
Is there a particular exercise I could do at home/in the office?

I hope Stevie doesn't mind me answering, but you could try a ten minute round-the-houses every day.

I do a minute of situps, crunches, ankle taps, v-sits and oblique twists twice. A simple ten minute routine, that has done wonders for my posture.

Simple things, lie on your back.... raise your legs a few inches, and pulse... can do that that regularly, it’s not a massive movement but will be a good place to start. A kettlebell is great to have alongside your desk. 1 minute every now and again.

Install a pull up bar outside and do pull-ups and hanging leg raises. Both very good for your core.

Luckily most don't believe you - you'd destroy the huge diet industry laugh
