My GP had confirmed low platelets from blood tests (never heard of d-dimer) but she wanted me to see a cardiologist to rule out heart issues. Once that’s completed today, I get discharged back to GP and then I can have the clot discussion. It’s a nightmare trying to have two lines of enquiry about health issues at the moment.
Did they tell you your platelet level? There was a clotting screening test that stated abnormal but expected.
It also stated a Fibrinogen level > 5.0 g/L [1.9 - 4.5]
Above high reference limit
International normalised ratio 1.1
Whatever that means.
I’m calling for a phone consult tomorrow.

Ask them on the consultation what they were, they naturally fluctuate anyway. But 150,000 plus is normal. After I can out of hospital mine were normal but then fell again (not to the level that put me in hospital) and then spent weeks fluctuating, I’m hoping the vaccine effect has now worn off and they stay in the normal range. Ask if they are going to keep monitoring the levels?
I have no idea what the Fibrongen level is about, that might be one of the things they have talked about but for me the consultants are interested in platelets.

when do we get 2nd pfizer approximately? I had mine around mid may, initially invited by my GP did not book anything. Should I book or wait?
I am aware of some 'spares' being given to those at 6+ weeks in Wales with the 8 week point being the standard.A mate of mine has literally just messaged to say he checked the local health board website, spotted a slot, booked his second in and will be jabbed about 2pm - his eight weeks is bang on today. Assuming the same across the UK so would see if thats possible where you are.
Flu vaccine in Dec, first vaccination since childhood and resulted in a flare up of psoriasis that last made an appearance 20 odd years ago. 24hrs later pretty severe pain from an old back injury bad enough that I could barely make it upstairs and couldn't walk far for the next couple of weeks. Coincidental? Perhaps but was apprehensive about the first AZ jab in March - mild psoriasis and some non-debilitating back pain. Second AZ in May, no reaction at all. In my 60's so was happy to get the vaccine. I do wonder what my mindset would be if I was in my 30's.

I think you know the answer to that
I'd like to think that I would take the "greater good" into account and act accordingly however 30yr old me was an entirely different animal. Yesterday, I brought my second jab forward from the 4th July. I think it was the Pfizer BioNTech this time, which is interesting because my first jab was OAZ. Apparently it’s not a problem to mix them. I felt a whole lot better this morning than I did the morning after the first jab, and my arm doesn’t ache like it did last time either.

No side effects, nothing, was in the place for 10 minutes, hardly an inconvenience.
