Vaccine side effects
Discussion
Second AZ yesterday - noticed they were asking a LOT more questions about medical history before getting jabbed than the first one, clotting, any prescriptions, how did you cope with the first jab etc. Double checked the Naproxen thing, no concerns at all.
Anyway got jabbed, didn't feel the needle this time like the first, however unlike the first no real side effects at all. Felt a bit clammy for a while about an hour after the shot, and I've been a bit thirsty, otherwise nothing to report.

AZ jab 2 on Sunday morning. Symptoms came on about 8 hours later.
Jab one was 48 hours of feeling rough with cold like symptoms.
Jab two, 48 hours of brain fuzz and vague tiredness.
On the plus side the lady who did the second managed to not spend ages trying to get it in the arm, and the bruising of the first isn't there. Still too sore to sleep on last night.

Just got my second shot (literally 10 mins ago) here in Germany.
First shot was AstraZeneca. Second shot Biontech.
Very curious about side effects, hoping for the best!
Edit to add that it`s now 11 hours later and feeling pretty good.
Another edit to add it’s now 30 hours since the shot and I‘ve had no side effects except a slightly sore shoulder. Very pleased!

My 88 year old Dad, an ex nurse, says since the second Pfizer jab a few months ago that he is definitely very slightly affected by giddiness/not all there (he didn't say vertigo, he knows what that is). He says if he had known he would have just had the first jab. He won't be having a booster apparently. He's not anti-vax, just very aware of effects drugs can have on old people (he won't go near a statin for example).
I know he suffered during lockdown, he used to walk 5 miles a go. He's having more 'slow' days than good days now. I'm trying to help/encourage him to do more before the winter.

Had my second Pfizer on Tuesday afternoon. Went home yesterday afternoon absolutely knackered and with a thumping headache. A few hours in bed in the afternoon and a decent nights sleep and I'm feeling fin again this morning. Sounds like this is a relatively common effect.
I think that's the first time I've taken sick leave in 2.5 years in this job, including getting covid last year.

Had my first (Pfizer) on Monday. About 5 minutes into the wait afterwards I put my hand up to let the nurse know I was feeling a bit sick and dizzy. She came over and then next thing I woke up on the floor with a load of doctors around me having passed out.
A google suggests fainting is not that a rare a side effect of any sort of vaccination. Not a specific reaction to this one. Still not very pleasant though.
Not sure what to expect for the second now....might ask to lie down.
Other than a sore arm, have been feeling quite weary all week.

Had my second moderna midday yesterday. 1st jab I had a mighty sore arm from 24 to 48 hours later.
2nd jab, woke at 4 this morning with a fever, have not been able to function today, paracetamol helps a bit but still feel like I'm only running on one cylinder, and one with no compression at that.
Hey, at least with the fever etc, I have not noticed a sore arm!

Anyone had any longer-term side effects after Pfizer?
I had my 2nd dose 6 weeks ago yesterday, and I'm still struggling with fatigue... had a rough coupe of days after the 2nd dose (extreme fatigue, dizziness, muscle pain, joint pain) but I'm now generally feeling OK... however, my training numbers are significantly down c.f pre vaccination.
I'm on a static bike, measuring watts/heart rate/cadence, and I'm producing less power, at a higher heart rate, and recovering more slowly... power down c.12% for given HR. No significant change to diet or lifestyle.
I've struggled to even complete 45 and 60 min sessions that would typically make up the majority of my weekly schedule.
Starting to get frustrating.... yesterday I was close to blowing up (hit 97% of max HR) after 25 minutes, and I was only working top of zone 5 for max 1 minute at a time. This would have been an easy session 6 weeks ago.

It's entirely possible you've had a Covid infection unrelated to the vaccination. Have you taken a test at any point?I had my 2nd dose 6 weeks ago yesterday, and I'm still struggling with fatigue... had a rough coupe of days after the 2nd dose (extreme fatigue, dizziness, muscle pain, joint pain) but I'm now generally feeling OK... however, my training numbers are significantly down c.f pre vaccination.

I've had exactly the same after my 2nd AZ- training seems way off but otherwise feel okI had my 2nd dose 6 weeks ago yesterday, and I'm still struggling with fatigue... had a rough coupe of days after the 2nd dose (extreme fatigue, dizziness, muscle pain, joint pain) but I'm now generally feeling OK... however, my training numbers are significantly down c.f pre vaccination.

Would you both mind popping in updating us on a regular basis about how it is going for yourselves? I hope you will, after a short period get back to normal and be able to post this positive update.
I've read this a couple of times now in other places by people who know that something is amiss with their training numbers, and it is these unknowns that is putting me in the "wait and see camp" as these sort of effects would not be recognised in the first 9 cohorts who were given the vaccine.
Anybody experienced an allergic reaction/rash following vaccination? I had my 2nd AZ jab on Friday and on Monday thought I'd picked up a few insect bites on my left arm over the weekend. Didn't think anything of it as I was stuck in a car park (field) for a few hours after the F1 on Sunday evening.
Then a few more appeared during the day, Tuesday morning I saw I'd got some on my right arm but again didn't really think much of it apart from the itching. Wednesday I was more bothered as most of my right forearm and hand were covered in red bumps which were starting to spread up the back of my arm towards my armpit and causing swelling around my elbow and tricep area. During the day my left knee started itching and sure enough a few red bumps appeared there afterwards.
Anyway, I had a video consultation with my GP yesterday and he thinks it's an allergic reaction where my body is fighting something off. Couldn't say categorically that it's caused my AZ jab but he did admit it's very coincidental timing and there have been reports of around 1 in 100 people experiencing similar.
I'm taking antihistamine as recommended and have some anti-itch cream which does help during the night. My right elbow is very swollen today and I look like I've got just one bingo wing and only had my right arm in the sun But although it appears to be moving around my body it seems to be a lesser reaction compared to a couple of days ago. I'm hoping it eases off over the next few days and doesn't spread to my face!
While I've been typing this I've just caught myself scratching my right knee and sure enough I have about a dozen red bumps there that weren't there this morning.
