30 somethings - are you going to vax?
Discussion
I’m 28, no underlying health issues but my partner had to sheild so I had mine about 6 weeks ago
I wasn’t that fussed personally but mainly went for it because I can see travel, events etc being a right faff for a few years without one, plus I thought well it’s for the collective greater good so might aswell do my bit, plus the benefit of a reduced risk of getting it
I’ve been a key worker throughout and managed not to get it and didn’t catch it on my flight back from Greece last year considering there was 18 cases on board
Take up among people I know is high, more for bragging rights I’m sure than actually being protected.
If it makes these restrictions end sooner and stay gone then no problem
I had Pfizer and had no issues apart from a sore arm for the day

Does anyone know how many people under 30 have died from covid? Pointless having a jab for something that is not a risk imo but could have unknown long term consequences.
6 people in the UK died yesterday from Covid, some of these had already had their jabs. It's just ridiculous that they are trying to vaccinate young, healthy people.
Imagine if you said the same about small pox or polio or measles mumps and rubella? 6 people in the UK died yesterday from Covid, some of these had already had their jabs. It's just ridiculous that they are trying to vaccinate young, healthy people.

32, had my first one as has my wife who’s 28, second in mid July.
Not bothered about CV, probably had it as gave up on lockdown l, etc, last summer, but need it to be able to get back travelling for work and as above it’s not just about yourself.
The pandemic is over, it’s the media keeping it going.
39 had my Pfizer a few weeks back now, I was not too fussed about getting it really, I trust my immune system and I think I had covid last year anyway, but as others have said above, I think it will just make things run smoother having had it than not, my work have already made us all sign a register to declare whether we've been vaccinated or not.
Feel a little like my hand has been forced to get it, but I can live with that if it helps protect others I might come into contact with.

Exactly, it’s as stupid as believing the vaccine is only about protecting yourself.32, had my first one as has my wife who’s 28, second in mid July.

For me the stupid thing would be unnecessarily pumping something that has had no long term testing or results into your otherwise healthy body.
Let's just hope the naysayyers (like me) are wrongly being extra cautious or it could be a very different World in 10 years time.
I'm 32. Had my second AZ jab about 5 weeks ago (primary healthcare worker). To be honest, I was a little 50/50. I'm very healthy and, in theory, minimal risk, but you still hear of people with "long covid" etc despite being healthy. I figured the risk of anything bad happening with the vaccine very low, and the risk of something bad happening IF I caught the virus to also be very low, but probably a bit higher than the vaccine, thus opted for the vaccine.
For reference, I had absolutely no side effects after either.

It's not just about protecting you. Its about protecting those can't have the vaccine and reducing the spread to those in the higher risk groups that are only partially protected.
And by reducing the spread you reduce the risk of mutation that the vaccine may not protect against.
Regardless of what you feel your personal risk is, I think there is a moral duty to have it.

The reason we can fight these viruses day to day is because of thousands of years of exposure. Evolution. To stop these viruses is a dangerous game. This virus kills a very small percent of the population. The vaccine is their because the NHS can't cope

A few posts of I’m not an anti-vaxxer, but…
Is anti Vax a bad thing?? I personally would take vaccines for something's I saw posed a big threat where chances are I was going to die. Anyone who is anti Vax... Good on them. They have either balls or just faith in their immune system.
If you want to take every vaccine known to man. Good on you... Do what's best for you

I'll get it, but not if I have to travel to Bournemouth or Newbury or any of the other locations listed so far. I live near Bath, so travelling over an hour for a jab seems a bit crap.
If you wait long enough you may find you get contacted via your GP.That's what I did as I was offered some mental locations by the national system.
