I have no sidelights, but do have brake lights. This was since I left the headlights switched on and an Accumate charger left on for a week.

After looking, there does not seem to be a fuse for the side lights. Can't see a relay either (but I'm happy to be corrected).
What could the culprit be? I have already tried new bulbs...no joy.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Number plate lights aren't working either.

There are no fuses for side and tail, it's a bad do

Red and White cable supplies front sidelights, rear tail lights and number plate lights

The good news is that you have front side lights working which means the fault is after the switch and lights control unit if fitted

Keep thinking Red and White cable, this cable going down to the rear will have lost its supply

Now go here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Read the topic from start to finish as someone there explains how to get to and check plugs at the B Post

Good luck in getting sorted

Penelope... Looking at a diagram you’ve posted before, would I be correct in saying the dash illumination uses the same wire/output ? If so, it might be worth checking they’re working.

Good post, the window switch illumination could be checked to possibly narrow the failed part of the circuit down a bit

Radio and window switches illumination will very likely be connected to the same supply, possibly temperature control wheel

Instrument cluster could be on a different supply if there's a control unit in the circuit

Only know of the above possibilities thanks to Steve D

Have never viewed a diagram that shows the complete side/tail lights circuits

Nice one RUSSELLM

Thanks for the input gentlemen.
The instrument lights do work. I've tried the brake lights and they work. Indicators work too. It's just the side/tail lights that aren't.

That rules out a duff bulb grounding the lot out then. When you first mentioned the LED’s at the front, I was wondering if it had a new separate feed put to the front.

I think you’re having to pay the inline connector a visit, as mentioned by Penelope/the other thread.

Could the bulb filaments have gone? I know it seems unlikely that both would blow, but if the lights were left on for a week…

Sorry I missed the bit in the original post that says you’ve tried new bulbs.

Are there any signs of scorching on the connectors of any of the black boxes (dim/dip one?)

Might be worth unplugging each connector and spritzing with wd40

Could always test a bulb I suppose.

But he mentions number plate lights as well, so I presume he’s got 4 bulbs not working.

Could always whip a multimeter out, and see if you’re getting a 12v supply on the Red/Whte wire, when you switch the lamps on.

Find out whether you have ground and 12v to the bulb holder.
If you do, it's a duff bulb / contact.
If you don't, trace the wiring back for whichever one you're missing.

I pulled out all the fuses one by one and checked. All good.
Then went to try and turn the lights on and wiggle the wires to see if there was a break. After I switched the lights on, they worked confused

I'll take that smile Maybe a loose wire or connection inside the fuse box. Who knows. I just want the thing MOT'd so I can drive her again after nearly 4 years of being off the road.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks all.

I've and this with my Griff - took ages to figure it out. The dash lights were working and I think the front lights, but rear were not. Turns out the push button switch has 2 outputs, and one had failed within the switch. New switch sorted it. There is a big multi plug behind the B pillar next to the passenger seat to check out too, as its easy to rule out.
