I’m on holiday in Italy.

Have had some pizza and pasta.

But no gelato, or booze. Or food between mealtimes.

Bit weird but do-able.

No gelato in Italy?? What's the point of the holiday......but seriously that's great will power!! smile.

I recon I had easily a 5k calories yesterday, and to prove the theory of 'you cannot out train a bad diet', even with a crazy amount of walking, swimming got no where near been in deficit.

Will be better today, and the first few days we actually skipped lunch due to running around so much.

I was under my weight target just before the start of half term......what will the home scales say come Sunday?.

Argh, struggling a bit just now - not overly heavy but just really struggling to get down towards my goal weight.

Booze is probably the key issue, really need to get a handle on that!

Well done to all still updating the Wiki!

Yes, I’ll probably relent but didn’t want to go full “brakes off” just yet. It’s the booze that’s harder to resist when eating out. I bought some beers from the supermarket and they’re just sat being ignored in the fridge - who drinks tea at night on holiday? Me it seems.

Too much non-keto snacking for me this week. Back up to 100.5 kg from last week's 98.6 frown . Must.. try.. harder.
Heading in the right direction again biggrin - 99.5 today. 6 weeks complete now, 8.4 kg lost thus far. Probably would have been more this week if not for succumbing to a large portion of fish 'n' chips to "celebrate" National Fish 'n' Chips day which instantly added 2 kg nono . They weren't even good and I instantly regretted it.

I need to delete the "show us your breakfast" thread from my watch list as that thread is like torture when you're trying to lose weight cry

So you weren't mind this than, post lunch (massive Pizza) crepe, washed down with a cider made from Apple in the back of the restaurant......Luckily last day of the holiday today, I physically cannot do anymore exercise, 5km run, 20 minutes core, 100 press ups, 30 mintue swim yesterday. Dreading what the scales at home will say tomorrow frown.

Still the same this week which is good, considering a few beers last night and a bbq.

Just heading home from France and while I have avoided overindulging too much, wine, cheese and pain au chocolate (not all at once ..) have been too hard to resist.

Suspect there'll be a bit of sighing when I get on the scales tomorrow.

There we have it, the numbers don't lie. Up 1.5kg in a week, and not its not muscle just fat!!

It's going to take about 4 weeks I recon to get below pre holiday weight, my only 'excuse' was it the first foreign holiday since COVID, and French food/drink is just good not to enjoy.....it has been a good holiday, worth the weight gain, just about smile.

Away again in Europe for the summer, so really need to have a different mindset for that break otherwise I'll be back to where I was at the end of last year by August frown.

Ah fk, I didn't even get out of the blocks. was hoping to get fit in the run up to the birth of my son. I kept seeing the thread come up and avoided it until now.

Well, he's 7 weeks old now and I'm fatter than I have ever been. Have been starting to feel very tired and a bit... well just a bit ill really! Things are calming down so will try and get back into a regular exercise routine. I am going to try the freeletics app, because i can never memorise or think up routines on the fly. Not going to cut out booze but will try to eat better, i know the drill.

So here we are, checking back in. I'm going to go to the gym right now!

I'm in a similar boat, albeit only 2lbs up. Could do better, but no where near as bad as it might have been. Thankfully the summer holiday it's just us so no encouragement from BiL like this time.

Stepped on the scales last week for the first time in many months, and genuinely scared myself. I had been hovering around the 125kg area, but a combination of extreme lethargy, eating late at night, and indulging in limitless home brew beer has seen the weight pile on. Had a work night out a few weeks ago for a chap's retirement, for the first time in nearly two years - searched out my 'night out' shirt, and found that it didn't even come close to meeting in the middle... had to buy a new shirt online from a well known larger gentleman's outfitter. Tentatively stood on the scales the next day, and my eyes popped at the digital readout - 137.1kg, or 21 stone 6lbs in old money. By some margin the heaviest I've ever been, and whilst it was a shock, it was hardly a surprise.

Have started to follow an 18:6 eating pattern with smaller meals, and also incorporating a couple of 23:1 days a week. Weighed in last Saturday, and I was slightly relieved to see 134.7kg, a small drop but still a drop. It's entirely within my control, nobody else is feeding me food and drink. Been on the Wall of Shame once already, need to maintain motivation and lose a lot of weight.

7.4kg and I'm pleased, but so much of my excess is on my tummy which is not a good look. Usually office-based for a posh gardening company but have deployed myself as a mower pusher (where I can) so have been Incredibly active and my diet has completely changed (loosely slimming world style).

5 weeks til a summer cruise.

Well I could give a list of excuses to a bunch of people I don’t know, but I’m back to beginning again. I’m now back in control of things though.

6 weeks until I’m on holiday so back on it

This thread & the wiki are a good read, well done to those with good results

A week away in Tenerife with my mate and the Jubilee saw me up at 16 st 2, down a pound and back on track. Lowest have been was 15.10 but all the war stuff messed with my head and I was thinking fk it, but now old Vlads Nuke threats have kind of dwindled in their effectiveness, twice a week or more for three months means they lose their thunder.

Weighing myself a few times a week keeps me from straying too far.

Done a couple of 5k runs this week so far as well, just been out at lunchtime, was thinking wont get to the gym tonight as have a meal to go to, so I thought rather than sit on PH, go for a run, dont know why I have done it before.

Seen a few posts of people doing 5k runs - I'd love to do something like the C25K scheme, but a bit concerned that my weight will knacker my knees and I'll drop dead of a heart attack. Have any of our larger residents (say 120kg plus) gone from couch potato to regular runner using such a scheme?

Lots of people have. I'm about that weight but can somehow wheeze round my local parkrun. Which I do semi-regularly now.
C25k is a great scheme and will ease you into it, you will be knackered though!
Get some good shoes with support and maybe get on YouTube for technique tips to try and stop shin splints

At that weight, I'd be tempted to repeat each week twice.
