How do I get involved here chaps ?
Currently 76kg need to get down to around 60kg again that’s when I’m at my peak.. since having son I’ve got down to around 68kg then ballooned again.
Tomorrow is the start for me after 6 months of eating and doing nothing. Massive Chinese of shame last night made me feel like Jabba the hut

Had a pal round on Saturday night for beers & a Chinese meal. Ate half of mine and kept the rest for Sunday, had a few pints but was relatively well behaved. Only a small loss of 0.5kg, but at least it's a loss.
OMAD and intermittent fasting seems to work for me, I don't tend to get hungry in between times, then eat a normal sized meal early evening.

Post progress/questions etc in this thread
Good luck with your progress
Posting up more to do with my eating habits than weight loss - I'm 105kg at 6ft5 and could probably do with getting back to sub-100 but the main thing is food messes with my brain, my energy levels and my sleep. My meals are good but outside of that I eat like a 12 year old spending his lunch money at the corner shop on the way to school, and tend to be secretive about what and when I eat. Like the weekend when I pushed our baby around the block to get him to sleep and dropped into Tescos to get a three pack of Magnums with the Clubcard discount and ate them on the walk back, making sure I put the box in the outside bin.
I exercise a lot but some days I'll wake up in the morning feeling like I've got a hangover even though I don't really drink any more, it's just the dense carb and sugar heavy food swishing through my body. I get similar effects in the daytime, after a big cereal breakfast and a bready lunch followed by a packet of Love Hearts that are supposed to be cycling sugar fuel but are actually sitting under my desk I'll pretty much pass out to sleep for half an hour in the afternoon. The flipside is if I have a healthy couple of days I'll get all excited and feel like I deserve (or can cope with) something nice, but that turns into a family sized tiramisu and it all starts again.
Had blood tests and monitored blood sugar for a month and not diabetic h-glycemic, so my body is actually physically coping pretty well with what I shove into it, but it's sapping my motivation and stopping me from doing/enjoying doing the stuff I want to do. It's not really fair on my kids for one thing, if dad has to keep lying down while they're playing.
So going to try to find some healthy substitutes that I can go to when I need a snack, and try to avoid any furtive eating that I'll be obliged to post up onto this thread.

You have carb addiction, hence why you're buying full packs of ice-creams and eating the entire pack within 10 minutes. Cut out the carbs and you'll feel 10x better. You can't exercise your way out of a bad diet.I exercise a lot but some days I'll wake up in the morning feeling like I've got a hangover even though I don't really drink any more, it's just the dense carb and sugar heavy food swishing through my body. I know, it's been great, up until now. I'm trying to find substitutes to give a hit of sweetness but without the calories, so steamed peas with butter tonight was good, but it's a lot easier to work it at home; when I'm out and about near shops is when it goes wrong. In fact maybe shopping is the key thing to focus on, if I don't buy it I can't eat it...ScotHill said:

I substituted in squash (Sun Quench Lemon from Aldi, others are available). Gives me/satisfies the sweet hit but only 5kcal. Not as good as peas, but better than a box of magnums.Roderick Spode said:
I found that sticking to a Keto diet for six months broke my propensity towards sweet and sugary foods. I was never one for eating vast quantities of chocolate or sweets, but would happily eat a packet of share size crisps or a couple of sandwiches on a long car journey. If I was driving more than say six hours during the day, I would buy a 'double' lunch - so two packs of sandwiches, crisps & fizzy drink - because as we all know, driving a car is so physically demanding one lunch would get eaten at lunchtime, the second would be kept until near the end of the stressful journey. Keeping a keto routine going meant I could no longer indulge in crisps or sandwiches, and has broken that craving for sweet foods. If I'm out travelling I'll tend to go for a meaty snack now as opposed to something sweet.
Yep, been there myself with the 'meal deals', usually 2 or sometimes even 3 . I discovered that bread (also pasta and pastry like pizza bases) is the absolute devil when it comes to piling on the weight. Massive improvement to my health after I cut that out - no more feeling bloated/lethargic and the scales numbers started moving in the other direction.Agree with you on the meaty snacks. Morrisons is one of my go-to's for next day snacks if I'm on the road. If you go late afternoon you can often find bargains at the hot food counter ranging from reduced price cooked chickens, to sausages and ham/gammon joints sometimes. Usually enough left-overs to slice up and put in the 'fridge in an air-tight container overnight to take with you next day. The cooked meats aisle and savoury sausage section like Pepperamis, salami etc are good to nibble on. Or if I'm feeling lazy I'll just stop at a cafe and load up on a big FEB! I don't worry about the toast/fried slice and beans for a one-off treat and a big plateful will ensure I won't eat anything else until next day. Tins of chopped pork in jelly like PEK are also good to slice up and take with you in a container - it's incredibly filling and will instantly kill any hunger.
To celebrate I'm at my target weight 6 months on from signing up here, I decided last night to pig out on home made Eton mess, and had a second helping.
This morning I feel like I've had 20 pints last night, but with an urge to exercise and fast.
Life does make it far too easy to access rich foods......but I have to remember its still up to me on what I shove in my gob!!!

To the guy who likes his carbs, I'm on a low/no-fat diet (slimming world style). I can stuff pasta and potatoes to my heart's content (and I have to or I'm hungry). I don't know the science but bread is out.
I'm down 11.5kg in less than 2 months, although my diet was diabolical with zero exercise and a chunk of my excess weight was piled on this year. I have changed both as much as is possible really (needed to be done).
I'm going on a cruise in a couple of weeks, then back for a bit before another 2 week holiday (been a liffe's too short kind of year), at the moment I'm feeling like I want to be slimmer and healthier after the summer, but I was also on a similar thread a few years back!

Another good week for me. 97 kg last Friday, down to 94.6 kg today. For the past 2 weeks I've used Friday as my 'treat' day with some non-keto stuff like flavoured yogurts, some oranges and a big meal with meat, mixed veg & mixed beans (iron), gravy. Then on Saturday I'll cut back, maybe just one flavoured yogurt and a smaller meal. Sunday back onto pure keto stuff to 'flush' the carbs out of my system and prep for another intermittent fast. Monday I'll try to start the fast but it's usually hard with still some carb remnants triggering my hunger so I'll take the edge off with a light keto snack. Tuesday I'm through it, insulin level flat-lined again, and then I can happily fast then until Friday night.
I've been feeling great too. Was bursting with energy yesterday so went out for a loooong walk. I'm sure the keto purists will scoff at my regime above and say I'm not doing it right. I know, but as the saying goes : "if it's stupid but it works... " .

Good work, Bill. From the table, looks like you'll be done next week!
But...
Am I (/we...) ever done? I clearly have a propensity for fat knackerdom and have been 3 stone heavier than I am at the moment so this is where I am. Being mindful of portions and excess and making sure I don't slide back. It is what it is.
