10% is crazy level to aim for! Am currently at 17% according to my very inaccurate scales/watch, if I was a bit stricter with no eatting cake(literally) and not drinking I recon I could get to 15%. To get below that would need serious diet changes which as you say will take the enjoyment out of life!!
Strength training instead of going nuts with cardio was my biggest 'game changer' in weight loss. Though I am now at a point I think I can genuinely start blaming muscle bulk for not seeing my weight go down .
Looks a bit lower than that to me, but everyone carries it differently. Strength training instead of going nuts with cardio was my biggest 'game changer' in weight loss. Though I am now at a point I think I can genuinely start blaming muscle bulk for not seeing my weight go down .

Out of interest what did you do to get the flab down?
Literally was/is eating less food (mainly not snaking) during weekdays, doing less cardio but far more strength work - Though all the equipment I have for strength work is a mat and x2 sets of dumbells from Argos. If I was stricter with dieting I think I could loss more, but I like wine/beer/chocolate/cakes and occasional BigMac too much. I'm actually surprised how little 'dieting' I've had to do, I don't think I've given up any kind of foods or avoided carbs, really is just eating less, controlling the snacking though does take a conscious effort.

YOU are the one meant to be dishing out the rollickings and keeping the rest of us in check, but you can't even set an example for us to follow . How many pies and cream cakes have you shovelled in today?
Week 11 update: 95.6kg. Up 1kg from last week . Only thing I did different this week vs last week was an experiment to see if I could get away with having gravy with my weekend meals rather than have them dry or just with some butter, and also a couple of extra flavoured fruit yogs. Scales basically jumped up 3 kg from Friday to Sunday . I guess that's a no then. All those extra carbs swimming around made it very hard for me to do a fast this week and only managed 2 days.
Sadly i went off the rails I witnessed my friend die in a motorcycle accident and tried all i could to save him.
Unfortunately the way i dealt with this was drinking and not giving a fk about anything. I know this isn't the right way to have dealt with it and this has put my weight back up by 5Kg in a relatively short period of time. I'm still not over it but i have acknowledged i need to at least cut the drinking right back and get back on with the fitness push and eating healthier foods again.
I also had operations on my knee back in 2012 so the running was affecting this and becoming painful so i'm now looking at spin bikes as i need to get back on track.
Can anyone recommend a decent spin bike that doesn't break the bank?

Meh. Not enjoying the yogs this week. Only managed one this morning and instantly got that feeling of regret. Instead, picked up a packet of sliced pepperoni and a packet of sliced german peppered salami on my walk to Tesco this morning and just had half of those with some thinly sliced cheese, nuked in the micro for 3 mins. Was bloody lovely! Kinda like a pizza without the bad bits (for keto at least). Think this could be my new favourite snack to stay on the keto rails. Will have to see what the scales say next Friday. r3g said:

Oh yes, pepperoni with cheese melted on top (pepperoni crisps) was my favourite keto snack. Really enjoyed my keto regime, but fell off the wagon 15 months ago. I should get back on it.Roderick Spode said:

Yes they're great aren't they? I did, however, make the schoolboy error of not covering them before setting the micro going. I did not enjoy having to clean a heavily pebble-dashed microwave. Hello fellow tubbies (and some doing amazingly).
On 16th May I (finally) committed to the thread. It's not too late for anyone else, don't wait for the 2023 thread! I know exactly what I need to do to lose weight, but making yourself accountable to a bunch of random folk on the internet really helps!
My approach was basically slimming world without the knitting group on a Friday morning. I don't drink or have a sweet tooth so it should be easy, but I could live on bread and cheese and I've had none of either for 2 months. At least a stone of my bulk was added this year - I knew I could lose that relatively easily, I didn't know how far beyond I'd get.
I really was a fat slob. Lazy, office-based, no thought to diet, savoury snacks galore, zero exercise, no motivation.
I'm still a fat slob, in some ways I feel fatter as I'm now very conscious and ashamed of my wobbly belly - but I've lost 13.1kg in 2 months. I'm on the last hole on my belt before I need a smaller one! I shamefully went up a waist size on my jeans, but now they can be pulled up and down while buttoned!
I'm shattered, I'm really pleased with the weight loss around my face, still a long way to go. I can wear stuff from my wardrobe that I haven't been able to for a while. I still can't fit in stuff that I wore after the 2019 version of this thread (Jan - summer 2019).
I'm off on a 14-night cruise tomorrow. Then back for a few weeks before another 2 weeks away to see family. There is a gym on the boat, maybe I'll put in a few shifts.
I'm expecting some weight gain but I genuinely think I want to be slimmer and healthier when I get back. 15 stone is my target for now (with the caveat I've done this thread previously).
Well done to everyone still at it.

Well i have been more consistent managing 4 workouts a week, for 4 of the last 6 weeks. Those weeks were buggered by business travel but i did have one week where i was doing exercises in the hotel room and maintained my 4 sessions.
Body fat is down a little but weight not. need to get more serious with the diet, up the intensity on the workouts and try and keep the consistency.
I am feeling good though. The freeletics app builds you slowly and increases the intensity based on your feedback. I am feeling "looser" so its helping. Need to start rating the workouts as too easy, increase effort!!

Right, instigated by signing the kids up for free swimming at out local pool I have joined the gym to enable me to take them for "free" also.
I know there is a workout wiki but does anyone have any recommendations for workouts that are good for fat/weight loss?
