I have to admit the dark nights, boredom, I am stuffing my face at night, really hard. Any tips?
I don't know which one of us has a bigger problem.....11pm on a Friday night, wife is out on Xmas do, daughter is tucked up, just finished a 45 mintue structured PowerZone ride, and what do I do next......join a 'Mariah Carey themed' dance on a bike ride with Cody......WTF!?!?!

I need to go back stuffing my face with chocolate digestives at night whilst pouring some snake oil into the stomach!!!

Quiet around here this week.

Long cold dark days and nights mixed with an array of tasty snackos in the shops make it difficult, especially where motivation to do excersise is involved. Really had to drag myself to go swimming this week but I skipped my Sunday AM bike ride last weekend.

Bought myself another pair of jeans and a few jumpers.
Don't think I've bought 34" waist jeans since uni, so that's a nice feeling. Jumper sizing all to pot as apparently these ones are a medium (Matalan), which I'm deffinately not. hehe

They're a great length in the arms and body though so good for tall people (and very warm).

92.8kg today. -0.9kg on last Friday (which was a bit of a false result really). Onwards and downwards.

Excellent work Ambleton ! clap

Just a small one for me this week : 81.9 to 81.4 kg smile .

Where's the other regulars? CAH, Rodders, zoom, AL ?

A loss is a loss! Heading in the right direction! I figured a while back that it's ok to bounce around quite a lot so long as the trend is reduction.

The other guys are probably having at it with the mince pies, stollen, chestnuts and mulled wine... I wish I was!

I'm holding steady at 70kg, despite starting to 'enjoy' the inevitable Xmas food overload.

Doing my best by ignoring my own experience/advice and trying to demonstrate yet again you cannot beat the saying 'you cannot out train a bad diet'. If am 70kg in 2 weeks time I'll be very happy smile.

Ha. Hardly. Still strictly adhering to OMAD, and losing zero weight. Unless I'm drinking gallons of mercury in my sleep.

Hmm.... Is you OMAD massive or is it reasonably "normal"? And what time do you have it normally? What do you drink during the day?

Over the past 4 weeks I've averaged 1650cals/day.
The previous 4 weeks I averaged 1580cals/day.

In those 8 weeks I've lost 7.5kgs.

As a general rule I do 1.5-2hrs of MTB on a sat or sunday round the local woods (although I skipped that this week) and an hour of reasonably fast swimming one evening mid week (2-2.5km depending if I get a full hour and how I'm feeling).

I have no solids at all Mon through Thurs and struggle to lose anything some weeks, although that might be more to do with the crap I shovel into me over the weekend which spikes my weight by 2-3 kg and then I spend my non-eating days trying to bring it back down. irked

I find that exercise does absolutely feck all for weight loss. IMO all my 25+ kg of loss since April has come from diet change and eating periods. Not easy to sustain when Morries keep putting Oreo ice-cream tubs on offer under £3 ! frown Exercise is for fitness, health and preventing muscle atrophy as we age.

No solids for half the week. Crikey.

I don't really eat anything differently to the "before times". Just smaller portions to control the calories. And a lot less beer. I might have one beer a week or a couple of measures of whisky, but no where near as much as I used to.

If you want ice cream, B&J Moophoria is excellent and way less fattening.

Eg Cookie dough normal is 235kcal per 100ml
Moophoria cookie dough is 134kcal per 100ml

I actually prefer the Moophoria anyway

Which means you can have 1.75x the qty and be even hehe

Thanks but I can't stand B&J. I find it ridiculously sweet and sickly to the point where it's very unpleasant for my palate. Flake seem to have gone down the same path as I no longer enjoy those either for the same reason. I'm like the moth from A Bug's Life when it comes to ice-cream! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTUQyEr-sg0

Normal meal. Perhaps a generous bowl of soup, with a cheese and pickle sandwich, followed up with an apple or similar. Usually in the evenings around 6pm. Some days I'll have pasta, others I'll have grilled fish, peas and rice. I don't think it's excessive, keeping it down to the low 1,000s of calories a day. Of a weekend I'll enjoy a few beers or a bottle of wine, again not to excess. Lost about 7kg, then it's stopped for months. Desperately want to lose a lot of weight, as I have a great deal to lose. Think I'm going to have to go back on keto, but again that worked for me for a while, then plateaued for months and lost heart. So frustrated.

There is clearly a limit to this, otherwise this thread wouldn't exist smile.

Am doing my best to prove this, Xmas hot chocolate (and mini mince pies) are going to be a regular item in my metabolism for the next 2 weeks. Even with daily excerise I have a suspicion my metabolism isn't going to adjust to my calorie intake for the holiday period!!

I've found my elixirs during the cold months is:

Hot Toddy (orange juice + Honey JD + boiling water)
Hot chocolate with Bailey's in it
Mulled wine 60/40 mulled wine/fresh OJ.

Won't be long till we have a 2023 thread going!

You're basically drinking a fkton of sugar with all that ! I'd be 25 stone by now if I was shovelling any of that lot into me.

It's a balance though isn't it.

I'm not saying I sit there and shovel it down my neck. Maybe I'm just wierd though, like I've said before. I haven't really changed WHAT I eat/drink. Just how much.

Changing the "what" drastically for me wouldn't be manageable long term as I really enjoy food and wouldn't want to miss out, so I'm sort of happy with the reduction I've got to. I still enjoy everything I used to, just not in excess or as often.

IE, we're having friends over this sat for a pre Christmas dinner and I know I'll be smashing in around 2500cals in one meal. But that's ok because I can reduce my intake by 120cals a day all this week and be golden on my weekly average.

I have somehow managed to get myself talked into a mince pie tasting session today. I might give this week's check-in a miss getmecoat

This time of year is bloody impossible! So many temptations and it's baltic out so minimal motivation to get on my turbo trainer in the garage. Managed to get down to the gym last night and made some incremental improvements on my PT-assigned workout though so happy with that. Also down 0.2kg this week despite a big night in the pub and a work Christmas dinner dance so I'll take that! Keep it up, everyone!

92.1kg today. 0.7kg down on last Friday, which I'll take. Was hoping to sneak under 92, but that'll have to be saved for next week. I'm expecting a ramp up over Christmas of a kilo or two hehe

If I can make it into the new year at 93 or less I'll be happy...

With the temperature starting to raise a bit this weekend I'm hopeful I can get out on my bike a bit too over the next 2wks.
