I usually have mild ashtma, easily controlled, but over the last few weeks it has got much worse despite taking Citrizine and Loratadine. Used to be able to run 5k no problem, no out of breath if I run for more than 5 minutes.

After a couple of visits to our office last week, it got much worse, culminating in several coughing episodes where I can't get my breath - pretty scary.

Going to try Allevia but I also got a private prescription for Dymista via a video GP appointment via a medical service my employer offers. Been using this for a day and a half and still no better.

Booked in for the ashtma clinic in a couple of weeks, but if it doesn't get better fast, I'm going to have to try getting a GP appointment at the local surgery.

Must be some mega-strength pollen this year!
Ended up with a couple of Ashtma attacks last Friday so called 111 on Saturday. They were brilliant and sorted me out with a prescription for a blue inhaler (mine were 8 years out of date!) and some steroids. Largely cleared up by now and nowhere near as wheezy.

I've had it double dosed. It's lasted about 3-4 weeks and now my symptoms are coming back

I used to suffer terribly which led to me getting a Kenalog injection 4 years ago. Had one the following year and the wasn't able to have any more because of Covid. Didn't need to get one since though and no longer take anything for hayfever. Sounds odd, but it's like it cured me of it. Whatever the reason, I'm happy and enjoying spring/summer life much more.

Honestly I'm dying on my arse - been on 180mg of fexofenadrine for the last couple of years and it was a wonder - like a light switch turning off my symptoms. This year - no effect at all.
I’ve also been on Fexofenadine for the last two years due to a dog allergy and it has worked really well, but the last month had been a nightmare. I’m not sure what’s causing it, unless I’ve developed hay fever?
I’ve continued to struggle so after a bad night I thought I would try the online GP service through the Babylon app this morning (I get it through Bupa healthcare). I had an online appointment within the hour and they prescribed Dymista nasal spray and have referred my to an allergy clinic.

I went to Boots to collect the prescription, where they log on to a website with my code - it all seemed very slick and a world away from the pain that is trying to get an appointment with the local NHS surgery since covid.

Hopefully it will give some relief until I find out what’s causing it.

Allevia (fexofenadine) 120mg has been helping past few weeks but last night and today so far has been awful. Actually feel slightly ill even. Is there anything stronger?!

I don't think its about "strength" as such, but finding the right antihistamine or treatment for you. It's worth trying a nasal spray too if you haven't already.

Do you suffer indoors as well as out? I bought an air purifier a while back which seemed to make things much better while working from home last summer

I use Allevia as well and was feeling awful yesterday after mowing the lawn. I have a beconase aqueous nasal spray and used it and it really did help me to feel “ok”

I'm stuck with doing the lawn in a few parts. Last time I mowed front and back then cleaned the mower and trimmer, then swept the whole driveway. I suffered terribly that evening.

Now I do all the above over a few days in parts. It's too much intensity of pollen across one day which can really make the suffering unbearable.

My hayfever has been playing up the last few days, I use Allevia as well 120mg I think it is.

Although for some reason it feels like it isn't touching the sides at the moment frown

I'd never heard of this before, is it still unlicensed for hay fever in UK?

I had a shocking 2022 and was prescribed Fexofenadine 180mg. So far this year, on the same prescription I have been absolutely fine.

A mate of mine has developed hayfever since having covid, grew up on a farm never had an issue and in his mid forties suddenly developed the symptoms

Kenalog isn’t licensed for hay fever in the U.K. as well as not being available on the NHS. This is because the risk of severe side effects outweigh the benefits of dampening the body’s response to pollen.
I believe some aesthetic clinics still offer Kenalog, but using outside of its product licence means that they’re on their own if anything goes wrong, even if they think (as some bonkers woman on local Facebook does) that their professional liability insurance will paid out.

Cheers, that's the jist I got from the quick Google search.

It's been bad the last month but last night/ this morning it's ramped up. Even got itchy eyes which I don't normally get. Cetrizine does very little now. Allevia does help but it's not as effective as it was. One a day was enough but now it's 2 or 3.

That could be Covid giving his immune system a bashing and hitting the 'hayfever' button.

I get 180mg Fexofenadine from the doctor on prescription. Have been taking it for over 20 years. It takes almost all the symptoms away. I sometimes top it up with beconase and opticrom eye drops when it gets bad. I also use the blue inhaler in the night - normally about 6am.
