Bloody hell - best wishes.
Spoke to Doc, itself no big deal, they just stick a bit of wire in.
Best of luck Old Merc, do they stick a wire in and then plug into the mains?

I think I've had COVID been ill on and off 5 weeks went to the gym and aches and lungs killed. Had a few jabs so probably helped limit impact.

Best try and hang on to that if you can, mine popped years ago and tbh not having one is a problem, a bug that might take a normal person 3-4 days to get rid of can take me several weeks. I was advised to go straight up to the hospital the other week by my GP as he feared I had the beginnings of sepsis, it wasn't thankfully.

On that note, day 42 of this awful cold virus thing and I think after another course of antibiotics I'm well on the road to recovery!

I would say that I'm recovered now but still getting the odd bout of fatigue. Also can 'feel' the glands in my neck every now and then. I think my immune system has taken a beating and may yet take a while to get back to 100%. Also the seemingly never ending cold weather doesn't help.

Blocked ear now moved across to other ear, most other symptoms gone, still a cough at times, but not bad can at least sleep normally now, but the blocked ear thing is so weird, never had a sinus infection affect ears like this before, and it goes without saying that whatever this thing is it is resilient, it just will not sod off!

Called the doc Friday to tell them it's still ongoing and they asked me to go in for an appt. Doc's ordered a full blood test to see if there's anything amiss along with a chest x-ray. It's good they're investigating but tbh there doesn't seem to be anything that would make me think 'lungs', ie. I'm not wheezing or coughing up anything. My lungs, nose and sinuses are all completely clear - it all feels like it's just my throat; it gets irritated which makes me cough, the cough is horrendously dry which in turn then irritates my throat.

The doc's also prescribed Beconase but reading up on that it seems to be more for treating allergic reactions in the nose rather than a dry cough so I'm not quite sure what the logic is behind that?

However I guess there's no point going to the doc if you're not going to let them do their job or listen to what they recommend...

Elbow is really swollen and painful...

...Missus and me are in complete confusion why my elbow has been infected but maybe its down to lack of immune system to fight said things happening.
When I was poorly I had a few real random anomalies, eg I had a nasty pain in my two smallest toes on my left foot for a few days, just like I'd worn a pair of shoes that were way too small.

Then some time later on over a different couple of days my left leg just wouldn't work and I was hobbling around like I'd got a dead leg.

Another time one morning I suddenly had ten minutes of pain across the left side of my chest/ribs which left me wincing in agony, just like someone had just given me a right kicking. After the ten minutes it was gone and never returned.

All of the weird ailments that I had whilst I had the lurgy seemed to affect the left hand side of my body, including the loss of hearing in left ear too.

Same here, and a blocked nose, really baffled by it.

I’m definitely building to something and it doesn’t help that I’ve got a lengthy flight to an even colder place lined up next week. Oh well, time to load up on paracetamol based snake oil

Yep; oddly enough, I just looked in here to see whether it was just me. After 4 or 5 weeks of being pretty symptom free apart from blocked ears coming and going, woke up this morning streaming again. Sinuses blocked and cough coming too… deep joy headache

Yep. And it's pissing me right off. I've had 'something' lurking since Christmas. It's not bad, but there especially if I breath deeply.

Yes same here...

Just got over the 'Cold / Flu / Cough' - that wasn't really a flu / cough or Covid - but just as nasty.

Three weeks of pretty demanding graft & back into my exercise... Then woke up with blocked nose, bad throat again this weekend rolleyes

We had a trip to Manchester last weekend, son ran riot in Legoland so inevitable he'd pick something up.

Blowing 39 for the last day then down with Calpol....not eating, not taking calpol last night...now running round the front room.

We've both had cold/sore throat as well but it was nice to have at least two weeks off from something!

I've had fever, horrendous aching body, shivers now for the last two days.

Nothing coming out both ends though so containing this, but have zero appetite (eating two banana today and thats it).

Wife and i got hammered last weekend at a party, thought we were just suffering with hangover symptoms the next couple of days..

Nope! Muscle aches, skin sensitivity, very high temperature resulting in delusional on/off sleep, then shakes and being ridiculously cold, constant coughing alongside bad headaches which come and go.

Been a week now and although we are better than we were, it shifts round the body manifesting in different ways, seems it gets into vulnerable areas.. we both have OA in certain joints and it is having much fun with those joints!

At least we are functioning i guess, tested for covid as my wifes having an op next week, both negative.

Scalp sensitivity / soreness is off the scale and remained the same throughout

I’ve had this lurgy since Wednesday. Last night I took myself off to the spare room so Mrs RC could get some sleep.

It’s what you’d call a « productive cough », but it can sound like I’m going to leave my lung on the floor.
I went to see my Dr, as my local pharmacist was st, and the Dr wasn’t fussed about it.

He was concerned when I told him of some other symptoms I’ve had since I had Covid early in the summer, so as soon as this lurgy has gone, I’m off for blood tests to see what else is going on with me.
(I wasn’t sick with Covid at all, and as a keen cyclist I was training for some races. After 1 week of isolation, I’m still not back to strength 8 months later. I just can’t do it. frown )
