Made it to Paris. Soup for lunch before we left and then some dreadful sushi from Boots in Manchester airport (turns out all the other food options involve bread). A few nuts in the flight and then a charcuterie sharing platter in the hotel bar.

Oh and some lovely Sancerre.

Win some, lose some. But good wine in France is always a winner..!

My last update has gone walkabout too (just re-done). Should be an edit history hehe

The thread is more important than the wiki - but perhaps worth checking your own folks. I also clip a sheet of dates and weights to the fridge.
That's a good idea - handy place to keep it to stop the munchies!

Have added my last weigh-in back to the wiki.

I do have a fridge magnet that says “Back Away Fatty” - when I’m back home I’ll post up a photo so you can all print out your own.

Oh, and for tracking your weight and progress, I use the Happy Scale app (as recommended on here previously).

I use the Happy Scale too - I like the mini milestones as they're something to aim for as well as the overall target which can feel quite daunting at times (especially at the beginning).

Also use the app that came with the scales (Renpho) that measures body fat/visceral fat/bmi etc - indicates if you're in the green/yellow/red zones for each thing it measures. Started off with a few in the red which thankfully are now in the yellow. Will be a while before all green but again another set of mini-targets to keep me on the straight and narrow...

1kg back on, haven't really paid much attention to it for 2 weeks, haven't been gym and enjoyed a few beers!

Not to worry, will power on.

Slow but steady progress for me, 1kg off since Jan, but quite a low starting point. Have now completed my cardio 'push' for the winter, so backing off on crazy cardio, and will also back off on stuffing my face with bread/cookies as a result. Aiming for faster drop off going into Q2 smile.

Not doing too well on weight loss but hit another milestone, 1750 indicated calories burnt over 2.5 hours. 6 months ago couldn't even do 20 minutes.
Just be careful with your food intake. If you aren't losing weight whilst doing stupid amounts of cardio it means you are eating MORE than before starting to exercise. Cardio does little for muscle gain, so you cannot even use the 'muscle is heavier than fat' excuse.

Doing 2hr+ of intense cardio isn't sustainable for anyone longterm, so when you taper on the cardio for calorie burn but don't drop your food intake at the same time your end up gaining weight quite quickly!!

If your focus is weight loss, sort out the diet first than worry about exercise.

I do 1 to 2 days of weights. The stupid amount of cardio was just to see if I could do it. I won't be doing it everyday, and yes noticed I eat more. I just enjoy it as well. I'm not really fussed on quick weight loss my goal is over 6 months happy to lose 4 kilos by then but understand your thoughts.

Despite my rubbish effort I'm back down to 96kg today, representing a 2.4kg loss so far in this process, which I'm really quite happy with.

I've still been having a beer most days but I intend to nip that in the bud, personally I'm getting a bit bored of it anyway, and I want to feel better in myself again and not rely on it as a crutch.

I've been hitting the exercise hard, which has probably helped.

Saying that I'll probably be good all next week and gain knowing my luck laugh

Down 0.8kg to 99kg this week. About a third of the way to my target weight.

Vital statistics(!): 4 inches off moobs, 6 inches off belly, 3.5 inches off waist since starting. Strain on shirt buttons much reduced but still got some timber to shift!

I was a bad egg last night. Had a takeaway pizza.

Jebus do I feel rough today. So lathargic and feeling really heavy. Feel so bloated and greasy and I didn't sleep well either. Woke up in the night with a mouth like an old leather boot and was really hot and bothered.

I had half a pizza but then gluttony kicked in and I polished it off.... Should've just stayed at half....

Doubt I'll eat anything much today as I feel like a barrel lol.
yikes
nono

Coincidentally, I succumbed to a family size lasagne, oreos and viennese whirls on the last day of February too - a 'last hurrah' if you will, to eating crap and now knuckling down to get back in shape. Back to the fasting regime - currently coming to the end of day 3 without eating. I did get back up to 92.8 but checked in at 90.7 today (I think the scales are still playing up hehe ). Will soon be rocketing back past 88.5 wink .

I reckon you have to give in now and again to reset your willpower. Nobody has unlimited willpower. Biggest thing is to forgive yourself and keep trying. If nothing else this is what has changed with me since this time last year. By then I'd given up, it was all or nothing. Completely the wrong mindset.

BBC Radio 4 PM programme going on about Ozempic, which is a weight loss drug.

The piece was half over before I realised what they were talking about.

Anyone tried it?

No drugs, potions, lotions or cocktails needed. Just eat healthy nutritious foods (not refined carbs) and don't pile your plate high.

No and mindful this is early days of this being used as a weight loss treatment: it was developed as a diabetes treatment and has been around for many years. The non-brand name is semaglutide.

There are two strengths - diabetes and a stronger dose that’s now been approved for weight loss treatment.

Everything I’ve read about it says that it’s not clear about the long term effects on weight loss. One thing that is said is that it takes the fat out of the face first - “Ozempic face” - which ages you faster.

Me, I’m going au naturel - slow and steady.

No weigh in from me today.

I’m currently being held hostage in Disneyland Paris. It’s a hellhole and finding anything acceptable to eat is impossible.

Let’s see what damage has been done when (if?) I get home.

Send help.
