Doing a good job of gaining all the weight I lost in January
Weight gain this week= 0.5kg
Total loss this year 2.2kg
I may be deluding myself but my gym performance is well up on a few months ago and my waist size is down so I suspect I’m putting muscle on. Don’t think I’m losing fat particularly but I’m looking loads better so I’m happy with things at the minute

After last weeks ‘blip’ of staying the same..I’ve dropped to 11st 1.2lbs in old money..a loss of just under 1st 9lbs..still no alcohol although that will change as I’ve got a fairly sociable (for me) month ahead.
Meal out with the wife today..Smith&Wollensky steak and vino lunch with work on 11th plus a weekend away seeing a show at the end of the month
Hopefully I won’t do too much gaining if I can get back on the horse in between times!

BBC Radio 4 PM programme going on about Ozempic, which is a weight loss drug.
The piece was half over before I realised what they were talking about.
Anyone tried it?
A friend used it and lost a bunch of weight. He regained much if it. It's not cheap and if you think that being fat is a medical condition, it might be good for you The piece was half over before I realised what they were talking about.
Anyone tried it?

I’m doing another fast! Last meal was yesterday lunchtime (prawns); trying to make it to tomorrow lunchtime (so 48 hours). Just got to get through the evening, then bed, work tomorrow (so being busy makes it easy).
How you doing, Coolhands? I am now at the end of day 4. Feel great! I made it a bit longer - till dinner time Friday (rather than lunchtime) so about 50+ hours I guess.
I really felt I could have then continued overnight which would have been my longest ever, however I was meeting my daughter to eat out so didn’t want to spoil things, so I ate. I had a burger and I think it was the best tasting burger I’ve ever had. Don’t know if it genuinely was or if it was because of my fast!
I am defo going to do some more I quite like managing to do it, albeit not as long as yours!

Yeah, I've done them on and off for years now. I do enjoy some nice fish n chips on a Friday if I've done a fast through the week, especially if I catch the chips just as they've come out of the fryer so they're fresh . The problem is I tend to over-indulge and call at the supermarket afterwards and pick up some ice-cream, cakes etc .I really felt I could have then continued overnight which would have been my longest ever, however I was meeting my daughter to eat out so didn’t want to spoil things, so I ate. But the mental clarity and not feeling bloated and lethargic all the time (dirty unrefined carbs with no nutrition) are definite positives of doing fasts, not to mention the added bonus of the numbers on the scales reducing in size!!
I have done several 7 day fasts in the past so may try to make it to Wednesday this coming week to break my own record. I am feeling in a 'good place' mentally to do it . Are you planning to do another one next week?
Just updated the Wiki. 2kg lost so far this year. Slow going but I haven't really dieted, just not eaten quite so much rubbish. Exercise, namely parkrun and gym is going much better.
I did a quicker loss a few years ago (22kgs in 4 months) a few years back and two thirds of it has gone back on so this might be more sustainable hopefully

Time for me to join back in on this thread. Had a bit of a traumatic start to the year which has seen me balloon to 103Kg. I think it has triggered some IBS in me too so I feel very bloated all the time (waiting on a GP appointment to confirm) which may explain some of the weight gain. However i'm planning to get back on the healthy eating and exercising starting now. Got a weekend away with some friends this week so I won't lose anything for the week but want to get started straight away rather than waiting for another week.
A hasty weigh-in at 5am after showering for an ungodly early train to the smoke this morning.
Turns out a weekend in Disneyland Paris where I’ve had to give in to bread and other low nutritional-value food (but which was offset by lots of walking) has resulted in a net loss of 0.1kg vs last week’s mid-week weigh-in.
I’m not entirely unhappy about that. Could have been a lot worse.
Time to get properly back on the wagon.

no sign of this illness doing one
still plodding through it, did manage 30k steps over the weekend but also managed to find a cream scone, some ice cream and some bread.
Tomorrow is weigh in day, no idea how that's going to go

4.2kg lost so far since January, not dieting as, as far as I'm concerned my general diet is fine, I do find when I snack, the weight creeps up, I stop and the weight starts to drop; damn birthdays at work and colleagues just bringing stuff in!
Still drinking but drinking less, averaging around 18k steps per day, it was up to 20k but seems to have dropped a bit so need to get that back up, still bootcamping 2-3 times per week but if it's raining I don't go glasses and rain, especially in the dark with floodlights, is not a good combination!
I'm happy with 4.2kg, slow and steady, well done for everyone else.

Just spotted this thread so thought I'd share my experience.
In January I was at my heaviest weight ever, 97.25KG.
I decided to do dry January and make a lifestyle change that is sustainable so decided that I would not eat anything before 11am and not eat anything after 7pm. That's all I have done. I did have a cheat week when I went to the Alps with family and friends. I drank every day but now I'm back, there is no drinking through the week and I'm back to my 11 - 7 approach.
It's really easy as I still have the odd snack and don't have to be strict with my diet. I eat what I want and still have a drink on a Friday and Saturday. The major difference is that I am not snacking in the evenings which I've always done. I'm a nigh owl and would normally snack out of habit.
I've lost 7.1KG's (nearly 16lbs) in total since 9th January without exercise or eating salad. Might not work for everyone but I don't find it a chore to follow my rules and it's the new norm. I'm especially pleased that I had my week away where I didn't have any rules as I didn't put on too much and managed to lose it again right after.

yet again my scales tell me no change, yet again I'm happy given my levels of activity and health over the past week.
If you just look at weight loss it is not really a good picture on its own. Also everyone has different builds, my weight hasn't moved much but I'm 200% fitter. I could probably lose a stone if I fasted but I enjoy eating and exercising. Also you have to be realistic weight loss is a long term thing, fad diets never work long term.Raccaccoonie said:

of coursereality is I've been unwell for over 10 days, not eaten as healthily as i should have and not been as active as i would have been. Not gaining weight is a big win really given those circumstances.
Its clear that the days i have been able to get active and the general better choices when shopping have created a much better balance, a year ago I'd certainly have gained weight while feeling a bit sorry myself through illness
Been a few weeks since i updated but that's mainly due to the fact the weight has been up and down like a fiddlers elbow due to a weekend in London for the Carabao final (plus sorrows beers) and a weekend in the Lakes for a 50th (plus celebratory beers).
It fluctuated by nearly a stone but it's pretty much all off now and there's quite a few quiet weeks to look forward to in order to get back on track.
Best part of it is that i feel zero guilt or upset about it all. It's been nothing more than life causing a delay in the process. In the past i'd have been devastated and then just thought "sod it all, more beer and pizza".
It's the small things that get us through this folks.

After last week at my parents all week with little activity and a larder stocked with far more temptations than ours at home... i am now back down to 88.5kg. 3.1lb down in a week... if I can just maintain 1-2lb a week I will be so happy. I think a major key aside from rough calorie counting has been aiming to get a gram of protein per lb body weight. I definitely feel fuller too.
