Just spotted this thread so thought I'd share my experience.

In January I was at my heaviest weight ever, 97.25KG.

I decided to do dry January and make a lifestyle change that is sustainable so decided that I would not eat anything before 11am and not eat anything after 7pm. That's all I have done. I did have a cheat week when I went to the Alps with family and friends. I drank every day but now I'm back, there is no drinking through the week and I'm back to my 11 - 7 approach.

It's really easy as I still have the odd snack and don't have to be strict with my diet. I eat what I want and still have a drink on a Friday and Saturday. The major difference is that I am not snacking in the evenings which I've always done. I'm a nigh owl and would normally snack out of habit.

I've lost 7.1KG's (nearly 16lbs) in total since 9th January without exercise or eating salad. Might not work for everyone but I don't find it a chore to follow my rules and it's the new norm. I'm especially pleased that I had my week away where I didn't have any rules as I didn't put on too much and managed to lose it again right after.
Well done. I am using a similar tactic at the minute where I can and I've done it previously. Used to work well when working Nightshift. Eat around 9pm, eat nothing til getting up about 2 the next day. I'm trying to see dinner by 6pm now and then eating after 9am. I don't have a great amount to lose but it's an easy weight to drop a few kgs.

No movement from me again this week.

Still hovering around 88.5+/-

I'm kinda okay with it though. I haven't done any meaningful excersise in a long time (early Jan) because I've been incredibly busy and the weather has been crap.

Additionally I've increased my food intake a bit so it's a good marker for what I can eat without putting weight on.

When I have a bit more time, the evenings get lighter and the weather improves I'll get back out on my bike more and start swimming again.

Down to 123.9kg as of yesterday, from 132kg, just nudged over 8kg from the start of 2023. Been doing lots of walking, swimming & gymming, and eating a sensible keto diet.

Rewarded myself after a 7 mile walk with a doner kebab minus the pitta bread smile

I've been on the road for two weeks straight. First to NYC and then to London. Now back in NY and heading home to Dallas. It will be interesting to see what this trip has done on the scales when I get home this evening

14.3kg down since 3rd Jan which I'm happy with, long road to go but good to see the work is paying off!

That is outstanding! How are you doing that?

Week of food as a coping mechanism for me after Mrs 22 was rushed into hospital 5am Saturday. Extreme stress is most certainly a trigger! I had a tooth out today so no rowing machine either.

As others have said, life really gets in the way sometimes - good or bad. I'll dust myself down and get back on the wagon.

Thanks! Well step one which I don’t recommend is to start at 144kg!

Exercise wise I’m doing about 100 miles a week on the turbo trainer, walking 5k a day plus extra steps throughout the day averaging just over 10k steps a day. Also doing weight training around 3 times a week.

Food wise I’m staying quite strict with breakfast and lunch and a bit more variety for dinner.

Breakfast - either 3 eggs scrambled egg or 2 eggs fried with 2 slices of turkey bacon.
Lunch - either a pot of fresh soup and a roll or 200g chicken, big bowl of salad and a wrap.
Dinner - varied but normally meat, veg and potatoes or pasta and some kind of protein

Hit the scales when I got home. Not bad considering I was 277lbs in mid November

The goodwill store has been getting lots of donations from me. I still had some old jeans that I bought 8 years ago (some still unworn) that now fit again. I basically went down from a 38-40" to a comfortable 34". Now the tricky part is to add calories as I need to slow it down

Huge loss over the last two weeks (didn’t weigh in last Saturday - did weigh ins either side): down 3kg from a fortnight ago. Now 93.7kg, giving a total loss of 10kg since 1st Jan this year.

Not quite at the halfway point, and a couple of close wobbles this week on the food desire front, but I’ve stayed in check as best as possible and the reward is being in double digits for weight lost..!

The commitment to no bread during Lent was slightly broken by a trip to Paris last weekend and feeling unwell this week when I had some toast. But I haven’t let those blips derail me overall and have otherwise stayed true on the path.

Even my dinner jacket fitted for the first time for an awards dinner the other night (tying a bow tie well was more of a challenge biglaugh ).

Hope everyone else is doing well. Hoping to weigh 90kg in the next four weeks. That will be radical and put me at the half way point. Bring it on..!

Great progress OMITN!

No change for me this week. I need to give myself a kick as I’ve not been as strict as I need to be to shed the pounds - unnecessary handfuls of peanuts in the evening being the main culprit…

Also have got addicted to Yeo Valley’s strawberry kefir yoghurt - half a pot a day would be okay not the two and a half I had last night smile

Edit: Just went to update my stats on the weight loss wiki and it's gone tits up again - the last couple of weeks updates are missing?

Maybe someone is leaving a tab/window open with the Wiki and then updating from there rather than a recent version. 3 weeks of losses and one week of piling it back on have disappeared for me!

Some amazing results on the thread and I've just had a week of self-destruct that ended last night. The thread absolutely helps me get back on track. Planning to row a half-marathon and watch the lunchtime footy to pass the time. Meals all planned - let's see if life has other ideas.

Yes that's probably what's happening - suggest before anyone updates the wiki that they hit the refresh tab to make sure it's the latest version they're updating.

Well I'm going to putting on weight. I fell down the stairs and my foot is knackered. Been comfort eating. Hopefully should recover in another week.

No change this week.

I must have the metabolism of a sloth

Never mind, I am feeling better and fitter even if the scales aren't changing. On the plus side Mrs TRD said last night I looked 'big' (no not fat but muscly) so I'll take that laugh

Thanks!

And same issue for me on the wiki. In fact my last entry showing was 18/02/23. Fortunately I’m using an app (Happy Scale - previously recommended here I think) and that gives me all sorts of trending etc.
