Perhaps worth mentioning that over 1kg a week is not universally considered too healthy. I think NHS say up to 0.5kg a week is safe.
Varies a lot my person, but it's a marathon not a sprint
After a great start the first few weeks of 6kg lost I felt I had reached an impasse between 158kg and 159kg, fluctuating daily but never breaching those numbers. Having stuck with eating well and increasing activity where possible I found I was experiencing a sort of "1 step up, 2 steps down" weight loss most days and over the last week or so have crept down to 158.1kg. If that is the sort of gradual weight loss I can reasonably expect from here on in then I would be happy with that as over the long term I think it leads to much better habits and lifestyle changes being cemented.Varies a lot my person, but it's a marathon not a sprint
Need to experiment a bit more with some of the meal prep options I've stuck to, getting bored of some of them!
Also, @CJS Racing - well done! You look great.

I need to print this and stick it to my scales lol. So impatient to get the weight off I'm forgetting it took me years to slowly get up to this weight and it's not going to drop off in a few weeks.Varies a lot my person, but it's a marathon not a sprint
Down another 0.8 this week. While happy about the weight loss (and I had to cut a new hole in my belt)! I am a little concerned by it as I really didn't make a true effort again this week (EG: massive Thali yesterday and did have a few drinks this week).
I need to go to the doctors anyway re my thyroid levels so if they're still high they could be helping. Anyway I'll get it checked out just to be sure, if all is well then I'm happy with progress!

Down another 1kg, although I think that's partly down to exercising late last night, perhaps not see any loss this coming week. Still focused and motivated and don't feel like I'm being deprived of anything yet.
Started at 85.5kg on 2nd Jan, now 80.6kg. Goal is 75kg by the Easter hols, so well on track, although only going to get harder, especially with a work trip to Texas coming up.

Added over a kilo in three days, how is that possible?
Body weight fluctuates quite a bit dependant on quite a few factors ,including time of day. An odd "unexpected" spike / dip are bound to occur - it's more about the trend. I had to religiously weigh myself over a long period due to a medical issue and the odd fluctuation is bound to occur a kilo here & there. I probably (read definitely) shouldn't admit this but once weighed myself before and after a big poo and lost 2 lbs, so there's almost a kilo lost in under 5 minutes...
Another 1.6kg down compared to last week. If I manage to keep up this average (which might be possible given I've had a couple of poor weeks), I'd be down another 20kg before my planned walking holiday. That would mean I was close to the lightest I've been for about 7 years which would make things much nicer!
Near enough a month in, and very happy. One coffee (flat white) a day, rest is hot water about 5-6 cups a day. No snacking, and on the ‘struggle’ days it’s a handful of pecans or almonds. Upped my daily intake of fruit, so routinely have over 5 portions of fruit and veg (still want to up it further)
We’ve always made our own bread (seeded, sourdough or fruit - my vice!) but limiting my intake of that to two or three slices day. Only processed food we’re having now is cooked meats, sausages, pasta and granola. but in the scheme of things we’re doing pretty well.
Some great losses from everyone above. Hope it’s becoming routine for you all and becoming easier as the days tick by.
My wife is doing it with me so it’s easier when you’ve ‘buddied’ up with someone. I could imagine it’s almost impossible if you have a family or partner eating things you crave.

95.7kg today which is the lightest I've been in 25 years. Target was 95 by end of Jan (from 100.4 on Jan 1st, 106.kg on November 1st) so pretty pleased. My target is 90kg by end of Feb. I think I might do it...and not be diabetic anymore on 22/2/24 blood test day. BP has dropped too though still on meds for that.
16/8, Huel for lunch, nakd bar or apple or nuts for afternoon snack. Salad with some protein in the evenings, more nuts. Sometimes soup with a slice of wholemeal bread plus I had some wine and cheese at the weekend and a pint after walking the dog Sunday.

For those of you using 1kg or 0.5kg as guide for weight loss thresholds....
Ignore month one of weight loss, alot will be water loss/newb loss.
Start counting from month two, and youll see a stable 0.5kg-1kg per week.
I haven't weighed this week yet (tomorrow), but I recorded some fairly amazing numbers early on, however, last week was just a 0.3 kg loss (in fact 0.2 kg from Friday to Friday). I'll be surprised if this weeks loss is any more than last week, and maybe I haven't even lost any, who knows...Ignore month one of weight loss, alot will be water loss/newb loss.

This is going be a long slog I reckon, however, this time around, the number one rule for me is that it's sustainable, and to be honest, when I see people living on miniscule amounts of food and/or punishing exercise regimes, I always just think it ain't sustainable and the person is doomed to repeat the exercise in the future, as I have many a time.
I'm eating carefully through the week, not drinking alcohol through the week (drank every night before, and no doubt that contributed to my weight gain), have banished takeaways and cakes at the weekend, and eating mindfully, but otherwise, I'm just enjoying my weekends, and when life invariably throws curveballs, then I won't be worrying about it. All of these changes are not only sustainable for the long haul, but are a huge improvement on my previous lifestyle; but it does mean that progress will be slow, and I'm OK with that, I'm not going to bust a gut
I'm already looking better than I was in the mirror and my clothes are looser so I'm not too fixated with the numbers on the scales - I caught myself falling into that trap but it's best not to become obsessed with it I reckon. Even at this stage I'm not sure I'll even hit the target I made for myself, but I am sure that I'll be considerably better than I am now, and that'll do for me
Well done TRD you’re progressing well and dealing with it.
This morning I weighed in at 11 stone and a quarter pound. My target is 11 stone. So that’s about 14 months from packing up alcohol and just under a year on a strict diet.
My weight when starting out was a tad under 14 stone. I’ve just started exercising to build up some lost muscle and probably walking around 30 or 35 miles a week.
I’m very nearly 66 years old.

Well I failed miserably through January. Lost a couple of lb but put it back on so I’m still where I started.
I’ve joined a gym though and got my first session tonight. I know in the past I find it easier to eat healthily if I’m getting in some good exercise.
So yeah, I’m starting again lol

January was a bad time for me to think about losing weight too. I am now at my all time heaviest weight again. It took me twelve months to loose five stone a few years ago and that was was when I was drinking. Today, I start again (loosing weight, not drinking!)I’ve joined a gym though and got my first session tonight.
