Nice! Over how long? What have you done to achieve that?

Mine is roughly 85kg down to 75kg now.
Hi mate,

Pretty much just watching what I am eating! For example - weetabix for breakfast, yoghurt for a snack. Baked tattie for lunch followed by a banana and tonight I'll have chicken for dinner!

I've done abit of badminton during the week, but have just joined the gym and running 5K everyday with 2 days rest during the week so my body can chill. If I lose another 1 stone I think I'll be happy with that!

PS... Since October. When I feel I am getting hungry, I drink a pint / 2 of water. It really does fill you up!

Sounds pretty much like me... Basically watching what you eat, and throwing a bit of exercise in there (although I've done less of the exercise and more of watching what I eat - too lazy!)

Well the truth is diet is by a huge margin the quickest way to get thin. Exercise is needed for health or as someone pointed out on my thread 'if you want to be a pretty boy with muscles'!!

Exercise will determine the final shape and unless you eat so little you're unhealthy your weight loss will stop at some point and it's usually a point way before your target goal.

I do the eat small amount of carbs, no sugars, unprocessed foods and high protein diet most of the year around since it has such remarkable effects on folk particularly those who want to maintain muscle or grow more muscle.

Been on the diet/health kick since May 16th and lost 22lbs thus far, which although I'd aimed to have lost more by now I'm pretty happy with.

Another 8lbs to go and I'll have a 1 at the front of my weight rather than a 2 for the first time in 10+ years

Good going! Are you looking forward to that moment? It's great watching the weight drop, isn't it?

I finally dragged myself out on the bike tonight, and it felt fantastic! Only did a quick 6 miles or so (not quite sure how much), but it still felt great!

I've been away this last couple of weeks, on a beach holiday, and my daily routine has been to wake up around 7am and take a stroll along the beach for as long as I can face walking and then battling back! Last Thursday I did 20 miles, but the usual is between 10 and 12.

I'd come back, have a light lunch and spend the rest of the day mooching around the pool, lying in the sun, basically doing nothing.

Evenings I absolutely pigged out, didn't hold back. Few 22oz beers at the bar etc etc.

I've lost a stone in 2 weeks.

HOW!? I've put my jeans on to go to the airport and they're quite clearly loose.

I get the same on holidays abroad - I think its due to the heat making you sweat when carrying out any physical activities.

After looking through the last 4 or 5 pages, might a well put my story on...

I've been cutting back on what i eat and doing more exercise. I dont want to radically change in a short space of time, i know thats pointless and i'll put the weight back on.

What i do now, is eat bran flakes for breakfast, i have a normal packed lunch, brown or mixed bread sarnies, a pack of crisps, a banana or something and may be a twix or snickers, so about 700-800 cals, then try to eat about 700-800 cals for tea, brown rice or pasta, light sauce, loads of veg, chicken things like that, also try to drink around 1.5 to 2 litres of water or squash each day to help me feel fuller, so in total i try to keep under 2000 cals a day. I also try to do around 30 minutes of excerise each day. Its slow and steady, but so far in the 7 weeks, i've lost around 11lbs. I started out at 14,7 and i'm down to 13,10 so i'm well happy (btw i'm 29, male and 5'10, so am still overweight, i just want to get down to around, 11- 11,6). I rarely drink now and when at home, i dont snack at all anymore, if i want a treat at work, i have 1. It fairly straight forward and it seems to be helping me, and i dont feel like i'm restricting or starving myself. I've just cut down my portions and calorie intake. I reckon 2 or 3 months ago, i would be taking in 3000-4000 calories, which is pretty disgusting really...

I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me some advice!

I started losing weight August last year, I weighed 21 stone 5 lbs (6ft 4"), fast forward to now and I weigh around 15 st 12.7 lbs. I'm really pleased with what I've managed to do so far, I want to get down to 15 stone ideally. However, I can't shift the last stone! I've been around 101kg - 102kg for ages.

I use a personal trainer twice a week, but my major problem is my diet. I can't resist chocolate or mints at work.

Does anyone have any ideas on foods that I can cook at home and eat in my 15 minute breaks I get at work? All I can think of is chicken and some lettuce, which gets boring after a while!

Apart from my chocolate and mint binges, does anyone have any suggestions on what to improve my diet with?

Breakfast - 3 weetabix
Lunch - Either toast, cheese omelet or poached eggs on toast
Dinner - Depends what mum is cooking, if I'm on duty its normally a take away...not good, but cheap and quick to eat if we get a call!

The take aways aren't every day, I go on duty 4 or 5 times a month, and maybe twice we'll get a take-away, so a little treat really.

All you need to do is exercise more mate.

It's always the final small amounts of weight that are the hardest to get rid of!

I've got a taste for unhealthy food too! My top tip is to cook food at home and bring it in for warming up and if thats still too much temptation then don't take money to work either!

Lunch is good but I don't know what you're eating in the evening, ideally it should be a low carb meal.

Diet is 80% of the end result so if you cheat on your diet you're unlikely to ever reach your goal.

My other top tip is when I feel like eating rubbish I just ask myself 'Would I rather be slim, healthy and happy' or 'fat, unhealthy but temporarily satisfied?'

As well as getting rid of rubbish also remember sugar has a big part to play in diets so it should be avoided too!

I entirely agree. My big drops came from ridding sugar entirely and low(ish) carbs at night.

I agree with the second part too, you need to think about long term gains. Well, losses.

Try just 2 weeks without bad food. I almost guarantee after that time you'll have less of a taste for it, and when you do have it, you'll wonder if it was worth it.

P.S. I lost about 2 stone in about 3 months, so it can be done. I did it to the extreme to lose the initial weight, and now I can eat bad once a week if I want to. 13.5 stone to 11.5 stone.

Oh yes, sorry. I cut all booze too. Even down to zero fruit, and not even squash for a drink!

Just takes dedication and education.

I just got a shock! I'm halfway through my weight loss, 25Kg lost 25Kg to go. I found a box at work weighing 25Kg and tried walking around with it for a few minutes! It started to get a bit uncomfortable quite soon.

I have been walking around carrying that weight constantly for years!
I am still carrying that weight with me unnecessarily!!

Now that is good therapy, try carrying around the difference between your actual weight and your target weight, it's an eye opener!

Finally I have reached my ideal goal weight, I almost got there last year by hitting the gym really hard, this time I've done it by counting every calorie I've put in my mouth and walking 30 minutes 5 times a week. I'm now working towards maintainence and increasing my calories by 100 a week, I suspect there is a very fine line for me between maintaining and gaining.

I've lost all motivation lately. Put 4kg on in the last month, although I have had my birthday and step dads in that time, but still depressing frown.

Went for my first run in over 2 weeks yesterday, and apart from nearly dying due to the heat I kinda enjoyed it. Went over the heath for a change. Got a PT session tomorrow morning, so its going to be a real health kick from then...aim is to run 5 times a week, nothing huge, found a couple of routes that are 2.4m each, so will go for them for a bit.

Sucks that I'm in a job I hate, and eat crap while I'm there, but to leave and do a job I'll enjoy I'll need to be fit and lose some more weight.

I think running 5 times a week is going to put a lot of strain on your body and joints buddy especially if you're carrying a few pounds extra.

Why don't you do other exercises like swimming and biking or my favourite weights? Or are you training for something specific? If it's the military or the police you will gain a lot from all round fitness that comes from different exercises in the same way sprinters get faster by weight lifting.
