I'd rather not be posting photos though- a photo can look different depending on angle, I would post measurements and weight
Actually that sounds like a much better idea No pictures then, just measurements, we just need to decide what is being measured. (Do girls measure their Chest )- We'd just need to assign a start date not less than one week from now
- Decide on what is being measured. Not sure, but Id guess waistline, biceps and chest? Most probably, not everyone will be seeking to build muscle (I would be) rather just loose a bit of weight. I assume waistline is measured around the belly button?
- Tabulate up a list of candidates
- And then add weekly or biweekly measurements, to proove who is lord and master of the Gut Challenge
And, %increase in bicep/muscle,
And, %decrease in waistline,
And %decrease (in most of our cases ) in weight.
And perhaps a figure which represents the overall change as a percentage. We're men. There has to be a winner
edit: We could have a thigh measurement for the ladies... Suggestions on which areas are best measured?
Feel free to suggest a more intelligent or better measuring format(!) I was never into measuring myself when I did work out.

I have lost 18lbs since Jan 1st (baby weight) I have also just started running as I am doing the Race for Life for Cancer Research on May 11th so I'm hoping that will help shift some more.
Sorry, not good at old money, that's about 9kg. Well done, your doing it the right way to keep it off i.e a steady consistent rate instead of crash dieting.Try filling a bag with 9kg now and spend the day walking round with it. Heavy isn't it.
That's about how much I aim to loose to be at peak condition.
Have you thought about entering any other races to keep the motivation going and give you something to aim for. I've got my name down for the Notts half marathon in Septemeber as a target.

I suggest we devise a system which doesnt require signing up to a third party website. Id be happy to accept weights/measurements via email fortnightly, and pop the data into something or other which presented all stats on everyone, on one single page. Even if the page was just an exported .jpg file. Might be easier that way, although Im open to suggestions.
id love to get back into a bit of a better shape. and luckily for me a job change in a few weeks will allow me more time. already got a rowing machine and i cycle daily. 100+ push ups a day and squats.
im getting there, but when im not doing stuff i get so bored and go for the junk food...

If you are monitoring and recording fitness would it be an idea to include blood pressure and resting heart rate.
I find it helps to keep records of all exercise and all food intake and plan meals in advance.
For me the exercise bit is the easy part, my food intake during the day is ok as well but it's my addiction to red wine and cheese that's the problem.

What sort of problems MrsF? Are you perhaps doing too much too soon? Regular massage (deep tissue/sports) is very beneficial if you are putting in the miles. Make sure you have proper running shoes too which have sufficient shock-absorption. You can get assessed at Up and Running in Nottingham and fit you with the most suitable shoe for your running style.central said:

How do I motivate myself?
If others are doing it around you then you're more likely to succeed as you wont want to lose face. How do I motivate myself?
Plan your meals carefully, and when you go to snack on something - have something to drink instead (and by that I do mean water or sugar free squash, not beer)
Says me, with an easter egg fetish
