I'm not sure that it's the lack of prohibitions that's doing it to me as I only rarely frequent places that have a smoking ban in force...but, yes, I think I spend quite a bit more time sucking on the e-cig than I did on real ciggies.I think it may be just because you don't get "finish" it naturally when it goes out, so keep on dragging. That might be just me, though.

Update: I had my last "regular" fag 4 weeks ago, and am doing well. Had the odd craving but overcame them quite easily. using my ecig quite a lot, but certainly no more than i used to with regulars. I`ve made the first step in cutting down my nic. intake by using 11mg carts/juice for the past week instead of the 14mg i was on at first. In another month i`ll move down to 8mg and see how i do..

Have smoked sadly for the past 35 years but did stop for 6 months last year, but then once again went back on the cigs, after gaining about 3 stone.
Received an e cig for Christmas and today is the big day.
Just a couple of questions though.... Did anyone say you can buy liquid to just top up the carts? Also when dragging on mine, it emits a gasping sound as though there is a leak. Any ideas? Its called a Gammuci. Very Italian!

Yes you can get just liquid to top up the cart's (I get mine from e-cigs.co.uk). It's got it's pro's and cons - it's a hell of a lot cheaper (£10 bottle lasts me between a month and six weeks) but you have to be careful with it if you get the strong stuff, it's a bit hazardous!Received an e cig for Christmas and today is the big day.

mine makes more of a whistle, it's just the air going through the very small hole in the atomiser.
I smoke Marlborough lights, what strength would be good to get? They seem to have everything from 8 to 36mg. What does that mean by the way? Is it 8mg per bottle? I figure about 20 drops per ml so that's 600 drops? 2 drops per cart that's 0.12mg.... seems a little low so I know I've got something wrong!

Resurrected this to say: I bought a "mini" DES901 e-cig a few weeks back and have now not had a fag for two weeks. I've been smoking for over 40 years. What has worked for me is the fact that I've just carried on as normal (even go outside to use it) so don't feel my life has changed. Feel better for it too...

she's got a point - sticking a plastic tube in ones mouth and inhaling is quite tricky...I broke mine at the weekend
Fortunately I had the foresight to buy in spares knowing I can be a little testing on products but I can safely say that you really don't want to put your e-cig in your jeans pockets before dead lifting 50kg of plaster. It doesn't like it, and broken e-cigs have sharp edges...

Still not touched a real fag since the middle of January and that's with 200 Marleys in the garage.
I, unlike some on here, have found though I'm "vapeing" alot more than I used to smoke due to the lack of constrictions on where you can do it. On Friday night I managed to "chain vape" in my lounge for about 5 hrs solid, with the help of a bottle of wine or two.
Although I do tend to only have 4 or 5 puffs at a time, not the 16 puffs you take on a normal ciggy.
I still think it's up there with sliced bread though.

Are you on low nicotine ones now? I've moved onto Low, and whereas the Very high to High to Medium all went very smoothly, the Med to Low has been a bit more difficult. I'm vaping much more to the point where almost every time I put it to my mouth it needs a refill on the cartridge Although I do tend to only have 4 or 5 puffs at a time, not the 16 puffs you take on a normal ciggy. Everyone in the office thinks I'm a bit odd though!
One of my batteries seems to be a bit "dodgy" it thinks I'm having a drag even when I'm not, will then give the "you've been sucking for too long" warning and seems to switch itself off dor 30 seconds.
I've emailed e-cigs about it, anyone else had a similar problem? Its defo the one battery, the other works fine.
