No one else seems to be commenting on the actual things.

My Mum and Dad have been using them and I use it occasionally. They are great if you want to smoke real ciggies less ( note not give up ).

They taste similar, you get smoke to blow out, nicotine hit, a fag shape object in you mouth, but you don;t get the tar.

Dad has gone from 40 a day to 5-6, but the thing is he hasn;t cut down, if he didn;t have the e-fag he would still need 40 a day.

Think of it as a healthier way of smoking rather than a object to use to quit smoking.

I gave up a 20 a day habit of 40years some 3 months ago by switching to electronic cigarettes. Yes, they exist, they work and I have no intension of going back to "hot" cigarettes. In reality they offer an alternative, allmost certainly much heathier alternative to smoking allthough many users have ended up packing in alltogether.
Anybody interested must, in my opinion study the forums below to avoid disapointment/bad purchase. As with all new things a little foreknowledge is a wonderfull thing to have.

I'm not sure about this part. You just don't know what's in them as it is not regulated. It may be st for all you know.

The other problem is that people see them as "not fags" and will smoke more than they would normally, and that's not good, either.

As opposed to cigarettes, which are just sooo full of good stuff... wink

They may not be regulated, but I think they would struggle to put quite as much st into them as in real cigs.

Ordered a DSE901 starter pack after doing some research (Black with blue LED), which is 2 batteries, charger, the atomiser, and some sample cartridges, and bought 25 more high strength carts, also got her a spare atomiser so she doesn't get stuck without for £60 all in, they're gift wrapping and posting it too, great service!

Shame I gave up as I fancy a go with one now! biggrin

I've bought the "Mirage" kit, with spare fluid to pop into the tips, car charger lead etc.

It does seem to be very good, i'm down to just a couple of real ciggies a day.

We have a right tit at work though, he's getting all uptight about it (he outranks me and is threatening to get me stopped from using it).

He gave up years ago, and ever since has made it his personal mission to never have to see another cigarette in nis life !

Well it's not a cigarette, so he can't stop you from using it, stand your ground.

Perfectly legal, thats why they started making them with the blue tips to show they were real ciggies.

My Dad has a sign up stating that electronic cigarettes are legal to use indoors and do not come under the no smoking laws ( right next to the no smoking sign ).

ex-smokers are can be the WORST kind of smoking nazi around, far worse than those that have never smoked.

Apparently the smell is MUCH more noticeable to someone that has been smoking for years then stops. I know I notice it all of a sudden if I stop for a few days.

He's the technical director, I'm just an electronics engineer (although he isn't an electronics eng, so needs me as much as I need the job, as I'm the only one they have).

He can just say I can't use it if he wishes...I guess, its partly his company, and as such he makes the rules, his partner, who is the senior one, has a much much better relationship with me, and has stepped in before.

He hasn't banned it as yet, just threatened, I'm as delighted with it, as he is disgusted by it, and we have a very long history (nearly 20 years) of just about tolerating each other.

On a plus note, I've been to a factory in Southampton today, its one where you could smoke until the poxy law came in, I showed it to the boss, he cleared me to use it, and two staff members had a go with mine, and have ordered one each for themselves.

I've used it around non smokers ( these chaps are non smokers rather than anti-smokers), and they too think its good, one said he just caught the faintest whiff of a smell that he described as being similar to the "smoke machines" used in pubs & clubs.
