Ditto, I get reflux almost daily, no matter what I eat. I also find its triggered by stress.

One of the only foods that I can bank on not setting it off is curry. In fact if I'm having a bad attack and eat a curry it stops it dead for about 12 hours.

Be very careful about this. Reflux is one of the major causes of oesophageal cancer, which is the second most nasty cancer of all (after pancreas) and very difficult to treat.

The repeated acid burns to your oesophagus will lead to mutations that cause cancer. There are treatments that can nip all of this in the bud before it gets nasty, but you should all push your doctor for an endoscopy.

By the time the main symptom of trouble swallowing becomes apparent it is often too late for anything to be done. So get it checked often and early.

My friend had reflux acid problems. She had tubes stuck just about every where to determine the cause. It was stress. She has since changed careers. She's as poor as a church mouse but her health is so much better.

Sounds like the valve not working properly. A guy at work had this and had it sorted with a simple keyhole op.

Was this the op where they repair the valve? If so I've seen it performed and it has the same effect as a stomach band irked

Mrs slopes has this very problem, but in her case its due to the tube from the oesaphagus(spelling) to the stomach being loose, and requires an operation to re-attach it. She does some mightily impressive belchs with this, but when she gips, god its horrible and she can be in pain for ages. Gaviscon, rennie and any other acid reducing products dont touch it.

hers definately isnt down to a hiatus hernia, she had the camera down the throat thing, and its all fine, except the tube being loose. Poor lass really suffers

Right, as the problem is excess acid I'm going to try... taking more acid!

Cider vinegar is oft touted as a cure, well I'm willing to give it a go and see if it works or not.

As this threads popped up again I thought I'd drop in another comment.

I've changed jobs since my last post about reflux and I'm happy to say my reflux has all but disappeared! I guess it was all down to stress, as I really hated my last job.
