How much running do you do and at what pace? i'm doing 10k @ 18kph and can assure you the belt does add extra strength.
That's seriously swift running over 10k, that's upper country standard, and faster than the quickest women in the country over that distance. You sure you've got that right?

However, i'm agreeing with others, the ab belt won't add strength. They put no strain on the muscles, so how can they help? they're for recovery and to stop muscles wasting away.

Running alone is probably helping your core strength abs more than you think, especially considering the speed you're running at.

whistle. so whilst you won't get Abs unless you exercise to trim the Fat off, eat thin, cardio exercise etc, do they make a Stomach more Vertical ? Pull in the Paunch ?

Mate reckons its the way forward. I reckon its bks.
They work, but you have to train also to lose the fat.
Ok fair enough.
Nothing burns fat off like training and dieting.
I guess he figures it will tauten up the Abdominal muscles to like I say, make his stomach more vertical than Horizontal hehe
To be honest the actual cardio itself assuming its not sat on an exercise bike in gym will do more for core strength than one of those machines will ever do!!

I do a lot of running thank you very much, and all of it is at a great deal quicker than 18kph.
oh and starting a reply by stating how fast you are doesn't impress anyone - go and say the same to ewenm)
I remember you from ages ago, real pain in the arse.... hehe

Yes Ewenm runs at about 23kph as that's his sport and he's very fast, he can't row 2000m in sub 6.30 tho can he biggrin and i doubt he'll keep up on a race track either.

I really can't be bothered wasting my life on this but, they do work well for me as additional training.

P.S. I thought you can't run? as shins were damaged? so how the fook can you go faster than 18kph as that is flat chat captain! anyway off to gym.

Yes 18kph but 22/23kph is the pace needed for top racing, i'm sticking to rowing as that gets me at the top, anyway i only do the cardio for race fitness.

Cheers

I am very confused now, what on earth has the thread you posted got to do with me being an arse confused there is nothing in there that is remotely offensive to anyone...

Secondly what the point in the wasting your life comment? Those machines do not work for developing strength thats a fact ask round or research as much as you want but its true. I'm not insulting you but just telling you what they do, i'm sure you may feel like they help you but that is in no way evidence that they work.

Regarding my shins again I don't know why you are mentioning it, I do suffer from bad shin splints however I go to a physio regularly and I do a lot of exercises to help so that I can continue to train. I have had a good winter of training due to being careful what surfaces I run on and icing/massage regularly - but they are still no-where near perfect.

I can go considerably faster than 18kph, as I am a sprinter however why that is relevant I have no idea. For some reason you seem to think that your level of fitness means that you are therefore more qualified on the subject.

Your more than welcome to check my power of 10 profile if you think I make this up or something I actually compete regularly, not just post about it on an internet forum.

For ab work, just set aside maybe 10minutes 2-3 nights a week.

Use an ab wheel and broom twists.

Ive found the ab wheel better than anything else ive used so far, from weighted movements, static holds crunches etc, good cheap bit of kit.

Why don't they fill swimming pools with Ribena? It would be far nicer when you accidentally swallow a mouthful.
Cos you'd come out dyed pink!?
So your skin will taste nice, too.

Use the machine every day, religiously. You will have a toned stomach.
