My girlfriend requires some dental treatment and her current dentist is next to useless. I have approached my dentist and he has refused to see her as he is full.

Her parents really ought to have had her teeth seen to as a child like they have subsequently done for the rest of their children but as she is the eldest, it looks like she was a victim of their inexperience.

She requires straightening of her bottom row and possibly some of the top which may well be fairly major. Don't get me wrong, her teeth aren't awful but they could be much better with some good advice and surgery.

What are our options please folks?

Get her dentist to refer her to the local dental team at the NHS hospital. I asked my dentist as my teeth were pretty crooked and I had a fairly bad overbite. I first saw a private specialist but they both recommended and referred me to the local NHS hospital team as the work I had required surgery (Maxilofacial team)

They were superb and I had both brace work and surgery on my lower jaw. The result is great although it took a long time due to my age and wanting the teeth to set firmly again after they were moved.

Is York too far to travel?

Really sorry, only just seen your reply.

Try Andrea Uhbi on (I think?) Castlegate in York.
Very well regarded dentist who did a lot of work for me.
