Clean, well equiped, low miles, sensible mods, decent service history...

It's about as good as you'll find for a Launch Edition car. It would have been high pricing a few months ago, but at the moment, it looks like a bit of a bargain. Will watch with interest to see if it's snapped up quickly or languishes for a long time. Could be a good weather vane of how prices are shifting.

sold it over the new year.

It was due a service, needed some new tyres fitting but a set of winters were included, needed a damn good valet, the boot leaked, sail panel was cracked and the reverse camera had a mind of its own. Other than that it was a fantastic car. He has added some black pack detailing to it. The ppf was torn behind the passenger door. It’s also had a new number plate added.

It sold quickly for £25K - I’d say the asking price currently is fair.
Seems a solid base car with a few niggles needing to be sorted by an enthusiast to make it properly good.

Although to be fair, that sentence sums up pretty much every Evora ever built depending on what your standards are hehe

It is rather looking like the answer to the original question "How long till the £20K Evora?" was, "Until 2020, when it happened once, for a 100K+ miles car, and then never again because they started appreciating."

I'm ignoring there the crash damaged ones. smile

Now that the bottom price seems to be £28k rather than £25k (even though it’s only been a couple of cars since the lower figure was the norm) I might have to start looking at other cars to fill the 2nd space in the garage.

I wholly appreciate I am going to sound like a t0sser for saying this, but with something like an Evora surely a £3k difference isn't going to sway you away from that as an aim? It's the cost of a big service when a clutch, or brakes or such like are needed on top.

I get that we are all on a budget, but just seems odd to look elsewhere and not just save the little bit more. Not only that, but knowing the depreciation has been glacial, if not appreciating, surely these are a great choice if the frivolous car fund is a bit stretched. Lotus have a great history of retaining their s/h value after the big initial plunge.

I see and appreciate your point but paying £3k more doesn’t prevent the potential cost of a big service cost including clutch etc. Every one has a budget, I could spend £28k or double that but it comes down to whether it’s worth the expenditure, it’s not about saving a little more. For me £28k for an early Evora isn’t worth it. I haven’t totally made up my mind as I’ve mentioned but it doesn’t hurt to see what else is out there.

Pretty much anything worth owning is noticeably more expensive than it was a year ago. Prices may correct themselves after lockdown. Or they might not.

Am I right in saying that the Evora didn't come with heated seats until the facelift?

Heated seats were available on early cars as part of the premium pack.

Hmm, this car says it has the premium pack but no heated seats listed.

Just found this from the Lotus service notes which suggests you could get heated seats in MY11 but not in the very earliest cars. My MY11 car (pre facelift registered Feb 2011) had them but this would explain why Launch Edition cars didn't.

"From ‘11MY VIN BH_11178 front driver and passenger’s heated seat option is available."

2011 is correct I believe. The early cars definitely didn't have them, I'm certain of that.

Doubt it's too difficult to put them in if you really wanted them though, is it really worth the effort? They are nice to have but not essential!

Oh dear. The gorgeous dark blue car recently sold by Will Blackham is back on the market. From the ad: "Purchased recently from Will Blackham - his reputation speaks for itself - very genuine reason for sale (hip means I need an IPS!). Would consider part-ex for an IPS Evora."

Love this colour and car is gorgeous, though the dusty picture doesn't do it justice. Anyone remember what Will was selling it at? Interesting opportunity to compare private versus known dealer sale prices.

Who sells a car in a state like that?!
I don’t know the answer but looks like he’s trying to get back what he paid. Would I be wrong to wan a couple of k off that?

The empathist in me is so sad for someone who probably spent ages working towards their dream car, only to find it doesn't work for them and to have to sell it so soon after buying. It would be heart-breaking.

The cynic in me wonders what has happened to or been discovered about the car in the time since 25th February to merit it's immediate offloading? Clutch on the way out, gearbox worries, maybe some sort of invisible accident damage?

Will Blackham is not known to sell bad cars, quite the opposite. So I lean towards the emapthic view.
