Wouldn’t have any issue with a Cat D fibreglass car like a lotus I must say. Same for TVR.

It's resale surely... you could have all the evidence in the world that the repair has been carried out flawlessly, that Category marker will still be on the car and it will always be worth less and harder to sell.

That's why you buy it cheaper to start with.

Yep, of course.... but you're still going to really struggle to sell it further down the line.

Looks like its been on sale for a while as the advert text says the car 'is' going to Hanger111 on Sept 22nd for service and yet the advert is dated Nov 10th....

I never struggled to sell a TVR that was Cat D with any difficulty. Likewise a friend sold his Cat D exige with little issue.

But at the right price, sell at the right price.

These sort of cars aren’t plentiful and many buyers are more informed and hands on than those of more common marques. Plus how many of these second hand older cars haven’t had a small fibreglass repair at some point in their lives, just one that was below being cat registered?

As I say, cat registered wouldn’t put me off a plastic car, subject to the right discount.

Yes, that's partly why it's cheaper to start off with.

Does somebody know this one?

Maybe is the picture, but the front bumper seems painted and re-fitted.

I really like that. If it was £20k it'd be a great buy for someone looking for a unique drivers car to take to some car events.

I agree, the paint match on the bumper is not great

Here's one on ebay for £21k. No bad history.

I am sure this would go for £20k easily.

Looks good for 20k, I wouldn't let the mileage put me off.

It's got Tech pack, but can't tell if it's got Sport or not. If the history holds up, that'd be a good car. I would like to know when the clutch had been replaced though...if it was back when it'd got 20-30k on it, then it might be close to coming around again.

That's the one that was posted on the previous page. Been on sale since July. As there was the odd clean car at low 20s popping up then I felt it had to be about 17 to sell.

I've been watching the low to middle price range evoras for a good 6 months now. There always seems to be around 25 cars for sale. The majority of which have been up for over 6 months and nearly all are with dealers. Those dealers being happy to have a 2010 NA Evora sat on their forecourt at 30k forever seems like the only thing holding prices where they are. The only cars I've seen shifting have been private sales for low 20s. This is all through AT and PH classifieds. There could be a roaring trade in private sales through owners groups.

I know watching prices this long is a bit sad but I have an interest in an S for as near to 30k as possible as soon as I can sell my own undesirable car.

Someone got a good deal on that. Slightly marmite colour and interior (personally love this colour but I know others don't) and patchy service history probably helped keep the price low....

I bought this one last week. Was watching it over christmas advertised at 23k. So after new year offered 21k and he accepted, never saw it at 21k?
4 hour train down, 3 hour drive home in an Evora finally (38mpg!) Sports + tech pack with aftermarket amp speakers.

But I'm really pleased with it. Seemed like one of those sellers who just did not want to sell it. Poor pictures, little communication. But It's very clean, sorted a few silly niggles already and now can't fault it. A big bonus is a remote valved exhaust - which sounds fantastic. I like the yellow seatbelts, calipers and embroided seats. Looking forward to making it perfect for spring. Compared to the 996 that I sold today it's a more modern, yet not really compromised exotic sports car. Yes the clutch was done at 35k - but like most they failed on early component/assembly failures rather than wear but if I did get stung with it then 3k is not a huge sum. I'd be tempted to do it myself and carry out some mid life restoration with the savings. It has the long ratio box too so no worries there either.

Ohhh and all but the last was Lotus main dealer servicing's - which wasn't in the add either and the last one was still a sports car specialist.

Well you won't be going far wrong there at £21k. Well done and enjoy the car.
I think I am one of a very few people who hanker after an Evora even though the Emira is on sale. If I had say £70k, I might well still buy an Evora. I drove a friends 400 ips and really loved it. I think it may have spoiled me for anything else.
