Yet the dealers I speak to all reckon they are short of stock of Evoras.
Yep, hence he's keen to take mine and turn a profit on both my old car and my new purchase, but I'd rather see someone enjoy it at a lower price for them and a better price for me. Especially as mine is currently the lowest priced Evora on PH and AutoTrader.CocoPops said:

I suspect that like the Elise, they're so good that people tend to hang on to them blueg33 said:
Saw your ad the other day. Looks like a nice one
I am struggling to find the right Evora to buy, as this rate I might end up with an AM V8 Vantage.
I want a S post 2010 with all three packs and not in black
Considering selling mine to fund some house repairs. Lotus owned car (I am second owner). MY12 car, every option and all packs, 46k miles. In Autumn Bronze with sports race decals. IPS model. Lovely car but something has to give to fund the extension!I am struggling to find the right Evora to buy, as this rate I might end up with an AM V8 Vantage.

Let me know if interested and I'll PM you.
Couple of low mileage S's on Autotrader for under 30k, though both cat D.
2012 - £27,995 Lotus Evora 3.5 VVT-i S 2+2 2dr, 22,800 miles and open to offers!

2010 - £29,550 Lotus Evora 3.5 VVT-i S 2+2 2dr, 13,795 miles, 2010 model.

Given the first car is open to offers that means you can now get an S for not much more than 25k. What would that make an early N/A cat D? Can't be much more than 20k surely?
Hopefully I'll be in the market for an Evora in a couple of years, watching this thread with interest!

I got a trade in on my 60 plate with 43k on the clock that isn't much less than that. Can't be bothered with a private sale and got a cracking deal on the replacement, so all stacks up well for me.
I reckon that it'll go on the forecourt at 31 or 32, which is what I paid for it 3.5 years ago, and I've put 20k on it.
I suspect or rather know that I'll lose more on the new 400 that replaces it on 1st September.
As for a £20k Evora. I wonder whether they will ever reach that. I suspect that will only ever happen with a car that is damaged or with mechanical issues. Just look at S1&2 Elise and Exige prices, that are on the rise.

Trying to work out what mine is worth.
2010 n/a sport, premium, tech
Storm Titanium
70k miles
Full lotus history
Clutch replaced at 35k miles (current clutch is fine)
New front discs etc
2012 gear cables
Highish miles but well maintained
(Mods this is not an ad. I can't find comparable evidence.)

Friend picked up an 11 plate with 44k for 26k with 2 packs and some added extras (heated seats). I reckon you can get more than that though and he just got a good deal.

I think that's a bit of a leap from 2 Cat D cars advertised at 28 and 30k to finding an example for 20k!
Wishful thinking but understandably so! The other way to look at it is save another 10k and with prices holding firm you should be assured of seeing the most part back on resale.
Agreed. I was waiting for them to hit £30k and even now I think if £30k is your budget then there are very few that hit that if you want a solid SH, excellent condition, top options and an S model. I paid £36k at a dealer for a mint example 2011 S with full LSH, 23k miles and a years warranty, fully loaded with all the packs with the 20" alloys in laser blue. I know that in a few years when I sell i'll lose less on that than I would on a newer car.Wishful thinking but understandably so! There's a lot that needs to be fettled with an evora- recalls, trim, gearbox linkages etc which need to be carried out properly to get the most out of the car. If you save money buying then you're likely to spend that later on fixing things.
I sold my exige S2 some years ago for 18.5k before it 'dropped in price any more' privately and a couple of years later they were fetching £25k and prices are still going strong even with miles on them. GTR's have risen as well- after waiting for these to hit £30k they're up to near £40-43k for a decent example having initially dropped, it's only the imports which remain even half-sensible money.
On top of all of that you've got to consider the lotus range. Supported by the (ever more collectable) S1 elise in all it's guises, then the exiges, the evora is a faster (usually), more usable, higher up the range model. Personally I think it's a hugely better car than the S2 exige.
Unless all the other prices collapse, £20k is extremely unlikely ever to happen even for the NA's.

I've just sold a 2009 first edition for £30k on the nose with 37k on the clock, for what that's worth.
Yup, bit of wishful thinking going on with that post!Wishful thinking but understandably so! The other way to look at it is save another 10k and with prices holding firm you should be assured of seeing the most part back on resale.

It would certainly need to be a real dog for 20k with prices holding the way they are; thats for sure.
In all honesty I think Evoras have found their level at around the 30k mark, as some cars pick up larger miles and get crashed I can see the bottom of the market going down to 25k / 20k only for the poorest examples.
From what I understand there are only a few hundred on the road and enough buyers at the 30k mark to keep prices buoyant.
As you point out the fact they are virtually depreciation proof cars (and backed up by your, Boogs and Sumsion's experiences) means your money has been as safe invested an Evora as it would have been in a bank over the last few years. This combined with the low running costs do actually make the ownership costs of an Evora a very reasonable proposition.

Back in December last year I bought mine (much the same spec with new discs etc but with 50k miles and 2bular valved exhaust) for £28k, but everyone agreed at the time it was a bit of a stunning deal. If anything the market seems a bit more solid since then.2010 n/a sport, premium, tech
