That looks very cheap but something not quite right. Dodgy dash repair and the interior looks rough for a 28k mile car (hummm...?).
No premium or tech pack either. I'm out.

Well I`m a fortunate bugger and have had 3 Evora`s and a 12c McLaren...the one that`s pants apparently.

The Evora does not handle better than the McLaren...the McLaren super series party trick is its hydraulic assisted self levelling suspension, which simply allows soft suspension settings when you want them along with virtually no roll when cornering...the Evora does not achieve this. The 12c is fantastically well balanced and adjustable when the right modes are engaged/switched off and it is at least as good in this respect as an Evora. The main difference apart form the lack of roll and the grip and stability that brings is that in the Lotus you feel like the car is pivoting around the driver, whereas in the 12c you feel like you are sitting more on the front axle...I like both.

The Evora is however a brilliant handling car below and above the limit and is as adjustable as anything out there along with superb feedback and an extremely good ride. Because it is not overpowered, it also means that you can more reasonably use more of the cars performance more of the time, thereby it is often more fun more of the time.

I have though on many occasions after having not driven the 12c for some time wondered why have I got it with all the potential running costs...but when you set off down the road you quickly realise that it is on another level, and so it should be at nearly 3 times the price.

The 12c is not 3 times the car the Evora, but I`d say the Evora is 80/90% of the 12c, so on that basis fantastic value, especially at £30-40k. I had a 400, which in many ways is the better car, but overall I also think the SR was probably the best package.

Its just such a shame Lotus never got around to making a targa type top version, they missed an opportunity...but apparently in the new Lotus cars world, the Evora will be shelved which is hardly surprising given the low sales volumes, but that can only be good for long term residuals...assuming we all have jobs and interest rates keep low and our world does not implode for all sorts of reasons...rant over.
Thanks for the post it is a nicely balanced view and reflects what I was reading on the Mclaren thread, don't get me wrong I would have a Mclaren if I had the budget but when you think the cost off the original Evora new...what a bargain they were shame to hear the Evora will be shelved, I was having mine serviced at the factory/motorsport workshop it all added to the experience and then they closed it such a shame, it it wasn't for the contact with the workshop I may not have brought the `Evora.

There are a couple of posts about this car over on TLF. Or, more specifically, the seller. As always, there is a reason that it has remained unsold for months.

Found it, thanks. Seller seems to deal in damage repaired Citroens - too many red flags on that one for me. I would have serious doubts over that mileage being genuine...

A few more cars around the £25k mark now, so of course prices have softened significantly since I finally bought mine! Hardly disastrous though, and still no £20k cars...

Is this Blue33's car up for sale again?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Coincidentally my old Elise is back up for sale, 1 year and 6k miles later for over £2k more than I sold it for - remains to be seen if it sells at that!

My time with mine is nearly over. Big Euro trip planned in September, then it'll be on the market. It's been everything I hoped for.

I bought my Elise sc new in 2009 and I have just insured for it again but the first time for agreed value of 30k, that's what I paid for it ten years ago!

Its on a different number, but I think it probably is my first Evora. It has the same CF door handles, later gear knob and similar looking side skirts. Looking at the MOT history the comments on one of the MOT's ring a bell. The passenger airbag cover popping up seems to have been fixed.

I sold it for slightly less 2.5 years ago, but i did offer it cheaply as I had seen the car I wanted to buy, which is in a rare colour (my current Daytona Blue Evora S SR.

Why wouldn’t the seller finish it, if it’s so close to completion?

Has anyone any insight into the market just now? I’ve seen a few early cars around the £24-25k over the past few months but as ever total number for sale at any time is pretty low so it’s hard to get a feel for pricing.

I sold my previous car a month or so ago and I’m getting itchy feet!

It is still a buyers market . I am sure there are sellers who have been about for some time that would seriously look at a bid below their offer price . There are deals to be had .

There do seem to be a few cars that have been for sale for a while - I guess that’s what prompted my post as it implies the list prices are a bit high for the buyers at the moment. The ones that have moved quickly seem to be in that sub-£25k bracket.

FWIW - I’ve just pinged you an email back - sorry for the delay smile

I recently offered within a grand of asking price on a car that's been for sale for months and the seller turned it down.

Loads of cars unsold, some getting on for a year which suggests over-valuing. I don't want to start a theological argument but if you check the classifieds Evoras look pretty poor value against Caymans and 997s right now.
