Shown as sold now but this one has been floating around for a while but in different ads. Not sure how I feel about the mods but that is a really cheap S. Almost too cheap.
I had an offer for this car accepted by the seller two months ago. It was booked in for a PPI with a Lotus specialist but I had to pull out as the pandemic lockdown meant it was no longer a practical or financially justifiable purchase.IMO the comments made about the advertiser are unfair in this instance. He has owned the car a long time and has a very justifiable reason for sale. A true Lotus enthusiast who has been very meticulous with maintenance. I'm not normally a fan of mods but I like what he has done to the car, especially the more aggressive front end and genuine GT4 rear carbon wing. It sounded awesome with the plack style exhaust. The maintaining Lotus specialist supported my impressions.
I felt terrible about letting the seller down and if anyone is interested in the car I would encourage them to go view it. PM me if you want more info.
Think I'll be resuming my search early next year and hope a manual 400+2 will be in budget by then.

It's good to know it's legit. It's an amazing price for an S and although the mods aren't to everyone's taste it's had a lot of money spent on it.IMO the comments made about the advertiser are unfair in this instance. Timing to sell is just unlucky I guess nobody could have predicted this happening...

- Pictures of the Sytner car have arrived. White with black leather. Is it just my eyes or has it got the dashboard airbag cover issue (slightly)?
- The private sale in Devon has price dropped from £25k to £24,895 after less than a week on sale. Heading towards bargain territory but need to understand why it's being resold so soon (was on sale by a garage in Suffolk last month).
Yeah I think the airbag has an issue, it's also entering the sort of mileage where the clutch is a risk, far from guaranteed any time soon but would be worth taking into account the rush of failure with a year or two I think- The private sale in Devon has price dropped from £25k to £24,895 after less than a week on sale. https://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/107495-stevens-esprit-or-evoraLooks like they wanted an Esprit but were talked over to an Evora and regretted it?
- Grey private (re)sale has dropped again by a further £200 to £24,695 after less than two weeks on sale. As Jimmsy says above, must have regretted the purchase!?
- The somewhat dubious black and orange car in Glasgow (on Autotrader) which has been on sale for over three months, has price dropped again from £25,990 to £25,490.
- A couple of cars look to have sold over the weekend, including the lovely Epsom green one and the Liquid blue metallic (which never even had pictures up)

Couple of very quick graphs for you.
Price versus sale - Data looks to fall into two groups, a quick sale, where price and spec are right, and a buyer snaps it up quickly, and the rest, where a lot longer time elapses before someone takes it.
Price versus mileage - Broad spread of values reflecting spec differences, but overall the expected trend of higher mileage meaning lower price.

Yes, I'm tracking Manual NA cars under 30K. Because that's what I'm hopefully buying (eventually). There was one supercharged car that sold for £29,980 back in February, but that was very much an anomaly.

Private prices are not meeting anywhere near trade in
I know serval people who have traded in NAs for 21-22k around the 50k Miles mark for convenience
When you say "not meeting" do you mean that the differential between trade-in value and resale is high or low? I don't know what something like Glass's Guide would say for an EvoraI know serval people who have traded in NAs for 21-22k around the 50k Miles mark for convenience
There's no sensible way to establish an "average" sale price (because I've artificially cut the data set off at 30K) but I'm seeing a cluster of values around 27K.

I mean that the people who trade their cars in for 20-22k mark never actually bother to advertise them for anywhere close to that, i.e. 22-24k mark. There's no sensible way to establish an "average" sale price (because I've artificially cut the data set off at 30K) but I'm seeing a cluster of values around 27K.
Don't think trade-in prices can realistically be compared to advertised private-sale prices.
As I see it, when a selling a car privately you look at others on the market and pitch yours at the level you feel is right compared to those. You probably have a "bottom line" sale price in mind.
If time passes and your car hasn't sold then you can either reduce your price or more likely, trade it in. At which point you need to adjust your expectations on bottom line.
The Evora is such a niche model that I don't believe the "beat the trade-in price or it will be traded in by Friday" offer really works.
And that's for people who are actually willing to advertise privately - lots prefer to trade in right off the bat and take the hit for the sake of convenience.

I am not necessarily comparing them, I am suggesting that people never give it a chance of within a couple of grand of the trade in price. Sometimes they do with other cars and get snapped up quickly. As I see it, when a selling a car privately you look at others on the market and pitch yours at the level you feel is right compared to those.
