+ Couple of new adverts: £24,950 black with red leather launch edition, 49k miles 2+2 forged alloys and CR box (unusual for a LE?).

As far as I have read at least the press LE’s had the close ratio box.
No, Ryvita is right. CR box is rare on LE.

Both right. It’s rare because it was only on the press cars at launch.

Never realised that - my 2010 le has the close box, does that make it a press car?

I think it means it could be. I would guess Lotus built a batch of cars with the close ratio box intended for use as press cars, whether they were all used as press cars you’d need some one in the know at the time to find out.
I haven’t come across any info saying that any customer cars could be ordered with a CR box.

Long overdue update:

+ A low price, Cat D registered S has appeared, variously priced 25000 on autotrader (briefly), 28500 on Facebook and 29500 on Ebay. Confusing.

- Apparent sales of a number of cars: £24750 red private, £26000 white Mountbatten Carsales, £27500 black private, £29500 black private.

+ Couple of new adverts: £24,950 black with red leather launch edition, 49k miles 2+2 forged alloys and CR box (unusual for a LE?), £27,000 black with oyster leather 45k miles, 2+2 w. sport, premium, Lairini exhaust & Radium cold air induction kit.
Just as a word of warning the black car @ £24950 was the car up on Lotus for sale for 24k for a while then briefly up on e bay and then bought by a "flipper" at a price much lower than he has it up for now. Early bird catches the worm and all that but it would sting me abit to pay this guy thousands of pounds more than be paid for just for giving it a clean and taking some better photos! If he was a proper dealer who could offer a warranty or finance it would maybe be worth it. In addition he has advertised it as FSH when it is not. It looks like a nice car but it only has service history up to 22k then it has been self serviced by the next two owners which is fine but will effect resale value.

Cheers Paul

ave lotus stopped development since the french guy left?
where is the Evora convertible and when are they going to drop in the Camry hybrid setup?
Lotus are owned by Geely now so have access to Volvo powertrains and so I would not expect to see many more Toyota set ups.
Geely have said that Lotus can continue to use Toyota engines going forward.

Getting back to the £20k Evora theme... I went to look at a Cat C car in August 2017. It was very low mileage at 18,000 but my offer of £22,500 was declined. It eventually sold at £19,750 perhaps six weeks later. So we’ve already been there albeit on a car with a story to tell.

Earlier on in the year, there was a red 2012 2+0 NA for sale privately, in Kent via Autotrader with a very low mileage. It was up for £29,000. Does anyone know what happened to that one? Looked stunning.

Well I've re advertised EV05ORA (the second Evora if you include accident damaged ones) after completing the NC500 in September. Car performed as I expected like a low mileage Lotus with no issues. Well only one due to the Radio signal in the Scottish highlands which was atrocious. Stream through 4G was also not good so I was left left with only CD's borrowed from my mate in an Elise. Turned out they were all his daughters Now 95 to 106 collection from the noughties and drove me round the bend after a few days. However I digress. Fortunately for me the car didn't sell first time round due to my stubbornness to stick out for the full price plus a chunk for the plate which was defo the reason but on the plus side it did mean I could do the Scottish NC500 trip in it rather than taking my TT QS 240 Sport. On returning I treated the rears to new rubber, had it serviced and as I expected it sailed through the MOT with 1 advisory for handbrake cables which will need doing before next one. As you will see from the ad the mileage is up by 2500 miles this time. Finally I would just like to bring up the subject of the clutch again which seems to set hearts racing when I tell people it's still on the original one. As most of you reading this blog will understand clutch life depends on your left foot, ears and type of driver you are. Considering the potential purchasers for these cars, we want to take off at pace, without spinning the wheels (if you don't want to get through tyres like an F1 team) they should consider that slipping the clutch for 2 or 3 seconds puts 100 to 200 kilowatts of heat into the friction surfaces per second leading to rapid destruction. With this in mind a well driven car (that includes driving in a spirited fashion on track or suitable fast highways) where the clutch isn't slipped on take and gear changes are smooth and precise the theory says they should last indefinitely. Okay that's probably pushing it a bit far but having never had to change a clutch on a car in my 41 years of driving (and this includes a plethora of track days in a wide variety of machines) I reckon it's possible to get 200k out of the Evora clutch (some of you who know me will confirm I don't hang about)
Maybe I should put a caveat on the ad that the cars not suitable for drivers with poor clutch control or have a record of replacing multiple clutches. As most of you are an intelligent bunch and probably have a lot more knowledge than I do (although as an old git probably not as much experience behind the wheel) I would be interested to hear comments on this theory.

Looking good! That Elise looks like the supercharged twin of my 1.6 CR, I'm jealous!

Surprised your car hasn't sold yet. I would have been all over it when I was starting my shopping journey.

This clutch thing really is a red herring. There isn't a car at a similar level which doesn't risk a multi-£k bill at some point, even a Boxster will do it to you.

I’m not surprised that there is a limited amount of people who want a 20k evora

I meant to say 100k evora. Firstly because the market is small for any evora especially cash buys at 20-35k as most people finance and secondly there is a lot of fear in the UK about high mileages - it wouldn't put me off though but I have recently bought another car or would have been tempted.

The thing with mileage is even if it doesn't bother you, it bothers other people and affects resale. So I have to perpetuate the myth, play the game and pay more for low-mileage examples as they are easier to sell on. If I were keeping for a long time then a 100k Evora at <£20k would be an attractive option.

Would it bother someone buying a used Evora or any Lotus?

Unlike say the average 911 buyer who maybe buying one as its what you do, a Lotus is a more considered purchase I would say, and the buyer more likely to be a car nut who isn't scared of 100k on the clock.

Yes I can understand being wary of 100k on the clock but I was buying knowing that the Previous owner who got it at 19k did a motorway commute everyday between York and Leeds putting 81k on it. What also made it a safe bet was the technician At Performance Autocare has looked after it for 9 years and carried out every serviceservice replacing anything the car needed no expense spared so when it came up for sale I snapped it up for the summer and to do the NC500 in with my mates. Without this back ground knowledge I would have definitely beEn hesitant and do some major homework before taking the plunge. Fortunately I am in the lucky position that I can hold onto it if it doesn’t sell with the only downside that it reduces my spend on a Trackday car. On the upside I get the pleasure of driving one of the best handling cars on the road So what’s not to like😀 Maybe we might get to see what an Evora can actually do on an original clutch.
