I have in the past had my Evora S remapped with the Komotec package to 390hp, and I thought it was a simple and worthwhile improvement...a subtly noticeable improvement in power and torque and an improvement in economy.

Just had the 400 remapped to 430hp and have to say I am very impressed. The car always felt a little long legged, with it only really coming on song at the top end of the rev band, whereas now it comes on song all through the rev band, but it also feels smoother and the throttle less blippy (if there is such a word?) when pulling away. I think they tried to set the throttle up to hold the revs a little higher for changing gear (with the consequence the revs hang too high for too long when you release the throttle), but now this works properly and it is far smoother...so the gearchange is really nice now.

I thoroughly recommend it!

I'm looking into getting a Evora 400 and then perhaps a re-map so you comments are very interesting, may I ask who did the re-map and the rough cost?

Komotec are the German designers of the software and it was installed by Hangar 111 near Ipswich. I do not think there is anyone else in the UK who does the Komotec stuff and besides Hangar 111 have loads of experience and a good reputation so I would not go anywhere else. Their website has full details plus I think the price quoted at £850. They do a lot of other work for me so I got a discount...

That's great! What about warranty considerations?

The installer is a Lotus specialist so unless something ridiculous happens it won`t be an issue.

If anything happens to anything engine or drivetrain related, Lotus will run a mile from any warranty claim. Even if the installer (Hangar111) are an authorised Lotus service centre.

Hi CTE, were both if these just a remap? I thought these were exhausts and intakes etc?

Personally, I won't do any changes like this until your warranty runs out. It will be a very good reason for manufactures to invalidate it unless they explicitly say otherwise.

One reason I never significantly mod any car until the warranty is out. It stops them blaming me for failures as it has been my experience companies always look for loop holes.

But in the end, your choice.

Just a remap. They can do a 460hp upgrade but that is manifolds and other tweaks... gives a chunk more torque...you can never have enough power, but sometime you can and I think this upgrade is a good balance email.

True whenever you mod a car there is an increased risk of something going wrong but if you warm it up properly and treat with respect you should be fjnez
