Evora S Sports Racer
Discussion
Personally I see the 4C as somewhere between the Elise and Evora and probably closer to the former.
The Evora is a good GT car and it’s attributes lie in that field. The 4C is more akin to the Elise in not really having GT capability without significant compromise (and a pissed off Mrs).

My thoughts too but I keep coming back to them for some reason I'm not even 100% convinced on the looks, some angles it looks a bit odd/dumpy but watching the youtube videos from actual owners (not journo's), they seem to love them and I think the prices are probably on the upturn now.

I've only ever seen one 4C in the metal, up in the highlands on a sweeping bend. We passed quite quickly, but it looked better than it does in pics.
I didnt consider one in place on the Evora as
1. I wanted 2+2, not 2-seater
2. I did not want a 4-cyl
3. Manual box was a "must"
Been using my NA Soorts Racer for two months now - about 3k miles.I didnt consider one in place on the Evora as

Nobody has sat in the back but it’s a surprisingly usable space, even had flat-pack furniture in there!
Also on 4 cylinders vs 6 - the standard exhaust on the SR sounds georgeous. A proper exotic howl at high revs in sport mode. More vocal than earlier cars but not OTT like the 400.
Drove a 4C convertible back to back with my Evora S. Chalk and cheese really. 4C is 400 kg lighter, flappy paddles only, turbo four-pot. The handling issues out of the box are easily rectified and I car I drove had had the Alfaworks treatment making it a very engaging steer. As others have said the 4C is much more of an Elise competitor than Evora. Downsides for me were too noisy and harsh for long journeys, seating position too upright, and I’ll always prefer a three-pedal car.

It didn't!
Oh well - you'll just have to believe me it looks good!Regarding 4c - they have terrible reviews and are more closely linked to an Elise IMO. Evora is far more refined. Sound rubbish and if you get up close to one you will realise they are not that well put together and that's coming from someone who is on their 4th Lotus!!
I was set on a 4C after selling my Elise, but supply has dried up and prices have gone up significantly recently - you'll now need £40k for a decent specced on in the proper colour (Tri-Rosso!). The same money would get you into a good Exige V6, which is a significantly better car...although lacking that Alfa 'charm'.
As mentioned, the 4C is closer to the Elise. Never been sure why most reviews constantly put it against the Cayman....
Well after deliberating a while, thinking I'd hold out for a manual, I've now put a deposit down on this IPS SR. Colour probably not everyone's taste (queue the primer jokes ) but it looks stunning in the flesh and a bit unusual. Was quite surprised how much I actually liked the IPS when I drove it, will take some time to master but that is part of the fun. Jamie at B&C has been great, looking forward to picking up soon. Will no doubt have a lot of questions for you all!
Thanks guys, can't wait to get it! Just going to have a quick stab at selling my current Mercedes CLS privately first as the trade in price was a tad low and it pains me to let it go without at least trying private.
One question I do have, the Evora seems to be fitted with relatively new Kumho tyres on the back, Pirelli's on the front. Thinking I'm going to need to replace the rears with something more suitable. I'll see how it drives once I've got it but what's the current recommendation for tyres? Stick with Pirelli's or go with Michellin SP's?

Very nice, you definitely will not regret it. I think it is highly debateable which is the better car, the SR or 400...the 400 does have some clear improvements, but the SR is a better road car in other respects.
I think I prefer the look of the SR over the 400 too. Personal taste I guess although I do like the GT430 ParanoidAndroid said:

Michelin Pilot Supersports, current version is Pilot Sport 4S. Standard size on the rear is 275 wide but its takes 285 easily and they tend to be slightly cheaper. Try and get a Mercedes compound, either MO or MO1 marked tyres. One question I do have, the Evora seems to be fitted with relatively new Kumho tyres on the back, Pirelli's on the front. Personally not a fan of the 400, certainly not from the rear. Looks a bit too Halfords aftermarket IMO. The original Evora with the SR contrasting was a big grower mind, I wasn't initially a fan at launch. To drive I also preferred the original Evora in the ride and the seats. It was the better GT car which was what I used my Evora for. If you wanted the harder sports car, buy an Exige.
