Very close to putting a deposit down on a GT 430 . Is there anything I should know/avoid/talk myself out of?

Have had a string of Astons so this will be quite a change but love the feel of it.

Also, it is in a dark metallic green which is fine, but would it be sacrilege to have it wrapped in Gulf colours?

I haven’t owned one, but did have a 400, and test drove a 430, you won’t regret it one bit, the Ohlins suspension takes it to another level, I’ve been tempted by one recently.
As for the wrap, in my opinion a bit chavvy, stick with the standard paint.

Metallic "racing" green would be my colour of choice.

No harm in a wrap as long as it doesn't damage the paint when removed at a later date.

Have you seen the Hofmann's one that has just gone live on the Selecting Gear auction?

Job done, deposit paid, collect on Friday.

Is there a recommended lotus club - I see there is more than one owners club?

Putting a colour scheme on any Lotus looks best IMO if it's one of their own sponsors. If you don't want black then "Gold Leaf" always seems to work well or even "Essex".

Yes, that's what I am thinking, probably preferring the Gold Leaf livery.

Doers anyone have any experience of good people in that business?

A great choice. I think that you’ll find it very different to your previous Astons. Has the GT430 got the carbon seats or the Sparcos?

You’ll find plenty of other GT430 owners over here: https://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/92021-...

Yes, it's got the carbon seats which, even for a land whale like me, seem pretty comfortable.

Thanks for the steer on the forum.

Racing Green Evoras look amazing with gold wheels. I nearly bought the 410 Sport with gold wheels that Silverstone have, couldn't agree the price so bought a old Ferrari instead .....

Another good choice! It will really feel different to your previous Astons (even if you’ve had the carbon buckets in a V12V or a DBS).

Lots of owners with the Lotus carbon seats feel that they sit too ‘upright’. You can buy aftermarket brackets to adjust the angle of the seat(s) and give more thigh support.

I don't think that dark metallic green is racing green though.

The car I looked at was Motorsport Green IIRC, so a bit more emerald than BRG
