Slight difference in running costs. The Elise service last year was £475.
It's not that much of a difference really.

one tiny omission being the 5k engine out cambelt change every 3 year...
£5k?? Are you having a laugh? Cambelt change is nothing even close to that, where do you get your info from?
A 360 cambelt is not and engine out job either, and it's £395.

Plus, taking a look at you running costs, servicing says £897 a year.

No track days and very careful road driving. For example, the original factory fitted tyres made it to 27k miles with only 50% wear. I've tried both the main dealer and an independent. I do about 5,000 miles a year.
Not disputing that you paid those amounts Rob but it seems a lot annually for 3 'A' and one 'B' service.Hmm, total repair and maintenance costs on my S2 111S have been around 450 quid a year so far, and that's including all the belts the first year I had it and most of the brake consumables last year (but no tyres yet). I can maintain, tax and insure it for under 1000 pounds a year. If I would do that on a Ferrari, I'd probably be driving one.

Maintenance I can see, but to do the lot including insurance for under a grand is bloody good going!Insurance on my Elise was £700 and that's as an old git with no points, living in the middle of nowhere and with 6+ years no claims.
Insurance aside, you can do it on a Ferrari no problem....see here for service costs at a very reputable indy...http://www.verdi-ferrari.com/servicing.htm
Mind you, on the other hand when the Gallardo clutch went it was going to cost £4k, glad they did it under warranty.

My insurance was about 420 quid this year. I'm 29 with 5 years' no-claims, no points, and quite a lot of post-test training. Tax is about 140 a year.
ETA: This seems to be going a little off topic.
Same here - I'm aged 32 with full NCB, no points, post test training and insurance is about £400. Nice ETA: This seems to be going a little off topic.

996TT is a very capable car but it is also very un-envolving to drive.
rear "seats" are a joke as the backs are actually tilted at a forward angle making it almost impossible for small people to get comfort levels to reasonable on a moderate (10 mile) drive.
Not having driven the Evora I can't comment from experience but it would be very hard to beat the porsche for a very un-eventful (though quick) drive.
