I'm no car expert, but I can't see why is should be faster than an Exige S, bigger engine, but much heavier and it's not a track oriented car.
I agree with you, the exige should be faster as its a much more banzai orintated car, but it could detract for some people. I just think its odd they didnt show it! First new Lotus sports car for a decade, first TV review, they like it they get it on the track do a time and then don't show it!! Isnt that odd??
They could have shown both the Lotus and Fezza...

The Evora does look nice in white though.

Er....LOL!Boggy
Slower than the Exige, but really good review and actually seeing the car on the move makes it look better!
But against that Black Shadow... No car in the planet can compare to that!
More than happy with the result, it's quicker than the 911 and the Cayman so that's all that matters

Lap times:
1:25.7 - Evora
1:26.2 - Porsche 911 Carrera S (997)
1:26.7 - Porsche Cayman S
you can't argue with the times

I love the Evora and I really hope that it sells well but as stated on other posts it's not that fast - It's not slow either but an E90 M3 saloon managed the lap in 1:25.3 and the GTR did 1:19.7 both of which are the same money or cheaper! Not comparable in pure handling terms though I'm sure - Lotus steering feel has always been incredible! I'd still like one but maybe I'll wait for the 'S'!1:25.7 - Evora

Like most things Lotus do, wait for a year after the launch and the tweaked version will be out and that is the version to go for. I would guess that they will add a supercharger.
You might have to wait a bit longer than that - Lotus have suggested a timetable of 2011 for the 'faster' version - next year should see the automatic aimed at the States. It's anyone's guess though as things will change depending on the uptake of the car. It's fairly well established that the engine responds well to forced induction, and claimed that the Evora has room for a twin turbo set up. Output of around 400bhp has been mentioned, but the first tweaked version is more likely to be at the 320bhp(ish) mark, rather than taking the engine straight to its limits.
