Evora Owners- How you getting on?
Discussion
I can't add a lot to Beady's comments. Mine now has just under 4k miles and has certainly loosened up nicely. It's a great free revving engine, and it does indeed like to be revved. Mine has the standard gearbox - and to be honest - though I have not driven a CR box car - i think it's perfect. You have to drive to the box -- on occasion dropping from 6th to 3rd is necessary for example to get past a m-way dawdler quickly. The other benefit of the longer gears being the cruising / calm approach to town driving which I like. Nor does it suffer on track for being long geared. The sports box is an excellent addition. I have not had any problems bar a problem with the central locking which was replaced and been perfect since. I rather like driving round in a car noone else has.
The brakes are extremely good and the speed you can carry through corners is impressive. In an entirely unscientific test, I recently lapped a current M3 within 5 laps of goodwood. Let's assume the driver was a muppet....
It's a lot more comfortable to drive round town than a bmw 335d with maddening runflats and jiggly suspension. In fact I did a long journey in an M3 2 weeks ago and thought it was tiresomely jiggly. Funny what you get used to.
The alpine stereo / satnav / phone unit is disappointing compared to most premium manufacturer audio systems, but, on the plus side, it integrates with my iphone to use the ipod, it does do everything from one screen and the reversing camera is very useful.
There are quite a few owners on 'the lotus forums'
Oh and I need new rear tyres. at 4k miles.

I have purchased my Evora trading up from S2 111R and very impressed.
If you don't want the tech pack then an essential is parking sensors. However you do not have to have the Lotus ones and my dealer is fitting other sensors and much cheaper than specing the tech pach with the reversing camera if you don't want it.
Mine has Sports pack, bi-xenon, sports close ratio and stage 1 exhaust and I prefer it to be on sportier side rather than comfy. Personal choice but chose starlight black.
Also heard that the darker interior seems to allow you to see the dials better as been told lighter leather causes reflections in the instrument binnacle.
Also speaking to a guy from Lotus last week and after 6-10k the engines really loosen up and come on song.
Cheers
