I live in Ariege,France about 2.5 hours from Andorra but was wondering what the shopping is like in Spain as I suspect I would get less attention from the Douane on my return.I would be shopping for really mundane stuff like sofa beds, sheets, plastic garden furniture, parasols etc.I'm guessing Barcelona is my best bet but really not sure.
Thanks, Rick

Best place to buy sheets is the U.K. because the sheets that you get in Spain are really skimpy on size and also pillows here are very poor best bought again in the U.K. as they are vacuum packed and are therefore smaller, M&S were doing 2 pillows for a £5 at Xmas time.
Spanish blankets are also on the skimpy side regards sizes and poor quality.

But Barcelona is your best bet, go to the Hipercor attached to El Corte Ingles but go to one of the big ones and they are good for Duvets,Matress Covers & Towels at good prices.

There is also an big IKEA in Barcelona as well, Zara homes will give you a catalogie in the U.K. & to deliver to your home from Spain.

Casa Y Campo is another good store.

Have fun & I am sure that you will not get as much problems in Spain as long as you are not going through Andorra or the roads around as they are always full of Douane from both Spain & France.

Spanish duvet covers are a PITA! They have an odd flappy arrangement at the bottom, instead of the little plastic poppers, and no ties for the corners, so the duvet moves around inside the cover.
Can't believe I'm posting this on a car forum! yikes

Second El Corte Ingles in Barca! yes
