My dad, now sadly no longer with us, was a Villa supporter for 60 years or more and would see Trevor Ford (centre forward) walking to the ground from his house which fans would walk past on the way. Bit different to today's overpaid 'stars' ...

Took him back to the ground circa mid 90s for a League Cup tie. He enjoyed every minute.

Sad day for AV fans yesterday but now it is over, there is some great football played in the Championship and the standard is very good. Not easy to get out of though. Managerial choice next is massive.

Ah good old Joleon....can always rely on him to be a tw@t....not content with "accidentally" tweeting about his brand new Merc during our relegation battle capitulation, from his pocket....says on Saturday that "Relegation is a weight of our shoulders".

And hopes that "we can give these fans what they deserve - some performances"....33 games too late you dick.

Well said Paul McGrath....
"Lescott came to villa for money and nothing more, he got what he wanted and laughed it off, you are slime bag son . Ur a disgrace !"

I wonder if the non-playing staff on normal wages about to be laid off, think not having a job is a weight off their shoulders too.
What a fking tool.

Will miss going to the Villa Everton game, most played fixture in the top flight. Guess this has been on the cards for some time and hopefully it might trigger a change in owner and a new direction, the Prem needs clubs like Villa. Lots of my Villa mates think Moyes will be your next boss but I can't see him taking the risk under the present structure, besides which, I can see him coming back to Goodison!!!

I can't see Lerner wanting to sell till (if) we get back up. He seems determined to get top dollar for the club, which is going to be very difficult considering the team that'll be left after the next transfer window will need replacing and reinforcing wholesale.

Depending on who they bring in to run the club and how much money they are given to spend on rebuilding I might get a season ticket for next year. I got rid of mine when Mcleish came in, only way Lerner takes any notice is by hitting him in the wallet.

Bernstein gone too as he's not prepared to compromise on what he believes is needed.

The Birmingham Mail website makes interesting and saddening reading tonight. Clearly RL isn't going to do anything until he sells. The inference that he has dropped the selling price, may (I hope) attract some concrete interest; this has got to end soon frown

Flabby partying in London on the night we were relegated, when he's supposed to be at Fat Camp.

FFS! It's like he wants to get the boot.

Probably very close to 'bringing the company into disrepute' termination clause that a lot of people have in their contracts especially if he has already been warned about his behaviour with the pipe. At one stage he was being mentioned as an England starting forward, what the fk happened? Another one who won't realise what he's lost 'til its too late.

A Dick, basically and even in the Championship you will be way better off without him.

That would be true, were it anyone other than Villa.

Gabby never really developed a football brain, he'd make the hard goals look easy and fluff the easy goals. If he'd kept developing then we would have sold him for tens of millions a few seasons a go.

There has been a few promising players from our youth squad not achieving what they should have due to drink, drugs and chasing girls. Not sure if its just Villa's setup that has these problems or every club with a sniff of prem football has this problem now?

Agbonlahor used to have one main weapon in his locker - a ridiculous turn of speed as a younger player.
All he needed was a yard, and that gave him the space to score, Villa fans loved him for it. As he's aged/put on a bit of timber he's been exposed as being not so quick, he has lost his edge.

However he used to be 'Mr Villa', a homegrown kid who was born within sight of the ground and was a one-club man.

You have to wonder what has occurred behind the scenes (over several years) to make him no longer give a flying fk.

Talk on the local news last night the club are shedding 500 jobs. The club is imploding and the yanks don't seem to give a toss.

Just watching MoTD2, Albrighton banging in the fourth for Leicester as they sit on the cusp of a historic Premier League title.

We released him (despite having been with us since he was 8!) in 2014 because he "wasn't good enough" - their opinion, not mine, I like the kid.

Nice one Lerner, brilliant.

Probably having one of the best managers in the game (O'Neil) walk out of the club after seeing all of his top players being sold off with no replacements... Milner, Young, Barry to name a few... Probably thought fk it, enjoy the PL footballer life & wages as the owner doesn't seem to give a st either.
