I've just seen the BBC website and the story. What an utterly horrible event.

Thoughts go out to family, friends and fans.

Thoughts and prayers with everyone connected to Leicester.

What a crap day for English football with Hoddle news, and then Amartey injury and now this.
Think a Brighton fan died at their game today as well.

Awful day.

Thoughts are with the club for the helicopter crash last night and the tragic loss of all inside (I gather all inside died?) and to the friends and families of those.

Absolutely horrible.

Mental. The man seemed to be univerally loved. Only positive things online about him.

When I 1st went to Thailand, my family said its the people that make it so special, I thought they were talking rubbish, turns out it was true, and this man is the epitome of that. Not only has he dragged us from league one to the impossible dream, he has united the club and its supporters again, he has built it from the ground up, invested behind the scenes, new training ground on the way etc. He has brought a little bit of Thailand to Leicester.

Not only that but he has regularly donated large sums to the local hospital charities, no need to do it, but he has.

Absolutely horrible thing to happen and like others can only see the worst news to be confirmed judging by the pictures and reports out.

He was one of the greatest things to happen in football in recent years.

I understand the Thai boys football team that were rescued from a cave a little while back are due to be feted at Manchester United today. What an awful coincidence. I hope they can all find a way through this with the support and respect the Thai community here, the boys and Leicester City all deserve.

As a lifelong West Ham fan my sincere sympathies to the club and all that are personally involved with this tragedy.

And a speedy and complete recovery to your lad who was hurt in the final minutes of the game, the excitement and passion of which was soon put into perspective by the events that ensued.

It is times like this ( and Hoddle too) that the thought of winning or losing, just goes out of the window

Incredibly sad is all this.

But it's time they made an announcement, I'm sure the relatives would be aware by now.

Sky sources are reporting 2 crew were on board, along with three passengers.

Many news outlets now coming out with the predictable 'hero pilot' story.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/n...

There's no way the pilot would have been able to do a single thing without a functioning tail rotor. Eye witnesses reported the aircraft was spinning like a top as it cleared the stand.
I'm afraid he was a passenger by then, like all the other poor victims on board.

ETA, moving on, they've announced who was on board....

Sorry for your loss guys.

Your team was responsible for one of the greatest sporting stories of my life time & your chairman was clearly a major driving force behind that and also helping out disadvantage people around the City as well. He sounds like a very honorable man.

Very sad.

In a world where so many fans despise their billionaire owners, it's very sad that this should happen to one of the good guys. Awful news really.

Given the importance of the tail rotor, is there no a way a second rotor could be fitted to take over?

Extremely sad news. Leicester had the perfect chairman and owner in Vichai. Not many clubs can say that. He put money in to the club and got them the greatest prize in their history and put a lot of money in to the local community. RIP all who were in the helicopter that evening.
