So it's the best day of the football calendar so far...

Who is coming?
Who don't you want to come?
Who is getting a bargain?
Who is paying over the odds?
Who would you like to see?
Who do you not want to be linked with?

Little to no work is going to be done today. Today we (Liverpool) have signed Coates for a bargain, maybe get rid of cole to Lille, Poulson to some water company (Can't remember their name) and N'gog to Sunderland I think (Massively over the odds at £4 million)

Why, why, why are City signing Hargreaves and getting rid of SWP? SWP has ruined his career - he should have gone to Arsenal years ago.

QPR are doing well aren't they? Disappointing from a Swans point of view as I see them as fellow relegation candidates. All these signings could see them getting those extra points to lift them out of it.

As 'arry been on SSN yet with about five phones going off?

Probably quite happy to just train & pick up his wages , If he was that bothered about first team football or his career he could have put in a transfer request

Always like SWP, shame he has gone down the pan, same with Cole at our place. QPR need to do some serious business to not be the potential whipping boys this year.

Arsenal should do some serious business today. Lord knows they need to.

Sunderland fan here, like many clubs we desperately need at least one new striker. Not that I’d want to see him but I can't see Ngog coming as he was linked earlier in the summer and talks appeared to come to nothing. Similarly, I don’t want Crouch and he has previously turned us down when a fee had been agreed a few seasons back.

I’d like to see us take a punt on Papiss Demba Cissé, who currently plays for FC Freiburg in the Bundesliga. According to Wikipedia (if that can be trusted) he scored 32 goals in 51 appearances last season and the Bundesliga is a decent league. However, I know exactly how this day works and we’ll probably end it by signing some seventeen year old from Derry City FC who is destined to play in the reserves for three years before being given a free transfer to Falkirk!

Could be worse, you could be linked to Bellamy.

We really are inept when it comes to this kind of thing.

I agree it's great from Owen's point of view, but can't understand why City are buying him. I think they're just trying to buy everyone so they have a squad big enough to field a full strength side 3 times a week with eleven changes. Fair play to them I guess.

Glad I'm not an Everton fan, who appear to have precisely zero cash available for transfers. It'll be a quiet day for them.

BBC updates have QPR in for Bellamy... so, with Barton already there, can a dressing room possibly cope with two head-cases?!?

/Tongue in cheek off...
To be fair, Barton's got his act together in the past couple of seasons...

'arry's been on to say that Modric is staying "1 million percent" and that it looks likely that Crouch will be on the move today and that he's trying to shift a few others (un-named).

Rangers fan. Not had a great transfer window so far, beaten to the signatures of a lot of targets, out of Europe, clubs sniffing around our better players...

According to the BBC's deadline day page Tom Huddlestone has tweeted (is that really a verb?) "Can't believe who just sneaked into the training ground the back way! Wow."

My guess is it's the Inland Revenue and old ‘arry will be 1,000,000% crapping his pants.
