Jon Dahl Tomasson- the next Bryan Laudrup, who were they trying to kid!? He then went on to play for AC Milan, bizarre!

Silvio Maric- reputed as the next best thing in Croation football, yes agreed at the time – when we played Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League Qualification stages he was superb, but not in a black and white shirt!

Marcelino- Spanish International- injury prone sick note b4stard

Hugo Viana- 9.5 million waste, but did better later on in his career(but not with us)

Stephane Guivarch- world cup winning striker who scored zero goals at the world cup

Xisco- WTF, still on our books, can't be that bad, surely?

Christian Bassedas- Argentine international, in what sport I don't know...

Titus Bramble- words fail me. The amount of 'he is young, give him time' I heard was laughable.

Jean Alain Boumsong- a professional footballer, seriously? Rangers must still be laughing. Souness is responsible.

Danny Guthrie- ever since he went down 'injured' last season against west bromley after giving the ball away, I positively dislike him.

Andreas Andersson- utter waste of time. Scored a couple of goals, that was it.

David Rozenhal- Czech international defender, of what?

Daniel Cordone- pony tailed. Pony.

George Georgiadis- Greek god of stness

John Karelse- positively the worst positional sense I have ever seen. I remember, we were playing Southampton at the Dell and he lost us the game just by being in ‘no mans land’ 3 times. Clown.

Carl Serrant – came from Oldham, upcoming future star. Seriously overrated and failed to deliver this promise.

Alessandro Pistone – potentially could have been great but injury prone and just his disinterested nature made him a bit of a joke. Lets hope David Santon does not follow in his footsteps

Celestine Babayaro - Joker

Alan Smith – Not good enough anymore

Ian Rush – Was past his best when we got him and I think he scored one goal on our cup run.

Laurent Charvet – 3rd division standard at best

Franck Dumas – old French guy, don’t think he should have been a footballer but we signed him anyway.

Kieron Dyer – showed such promise when he played but he was just picking up his wages by the end – injury prone isn’t the word!

Michael Owen – See above

Jonathan Woodgate- and again

Mike Hooper- Not really a very good goalkeeper but he did have an English Literature degree from Swansea Uni!

Carl Cort – He is like an antique Carlton Cole mixed with Heskey – utterly useless

Albert Luque – Watch videos of him on Youtube for deportivo – out of this world. Performances for NUFC, certainly in this world, maybe good enough for hackney marshes. To be fair, he never got a decent chance

Antoine Sibierski – panic transfer window signing but not premier league standard

James Perch – Works hard but Championship standard at best

Blimey, he must be ste. I doubt it`s actually possible to be THAT crap.

To be fair to Carlton he`s having a decent season, the ball having bounced off him into the net on 4 occasions so far.

He is pretty dire isn't he.

Nigel Quashie for the Hammers has to be added to the list.

Carl Cort played for Wimbledon and banged a few goals in - this was in the era of Jason Euell, Marcus Gayle, Robbie Earl etc, long ball. he looked decent and could have been good for us but alas he was a failure of huge proportions - injuries were his downfall!

I saw him score at Palace once, but yes, a waste of time.

Villa fans have already nominated Bosko Balaban and I couldn't agree more. Though I'd like to nominate a couple from last season, Jean Makoun and the french pensioner, not the manager, Pires! What was the point? Pay him high wages to keep young promising British talent out of the team whilst running without picking his feet up.

Gerrard Houllier really is the man for bad signings.

Can't really think of any more, but the most hated player was Alpay. He was a pretty good CB but completely hated. IIRC it was because he was Turkish and it was to do with what happened to the Leeds fans in that European tie. He scored for us and got booed.
