Lest us not forget Patrick Kluivert also.
Surely Patrick made a worthy contribution to the local after dark leisure economy, even if he did bugger all for NUFC? I don't think he's ever failed on that front.

Can the lads from the smaller clubs please highlight the club they're talking about. Some of the names ring a bell, but for example I've never heard of :

Ralph Milne
William Prunier
  • LMAO* the small club being Manchester United?
ade akinbiye was a good call - only team i think he did ok for was burnley!

dare i mention savo miss-alot-ovic? the only thing decent he did for villa was that league final goal.

or the first big name italian to come to the english league - silenzi at notts forest?

and we need a manager to manage this team of super-flops - christian gross perhaps...

Ahh.. I forgot about Savo Milosevic. Though, I was pretty young when he was about. I remember his name being the chant if you missed a sitter on the school field or in football training.

Savo! Savo! Savo!

Being a Rangers fan, the obvious one would have to be Daniel Prodan. £2.2m and never played. Tore Andre Flo's goal return wasn't actually that bad, but his price tag rightly overshadowed that. The worst for me though would have to be Egil Ostenstad. He never looked like a football player, let alone a goal threat. Honourable mentions have to go to Jean-Claude Pierre Fan Fan, Lionel Letizi and Franny Jeffers. I'm leaving Filip Sebo out, because I felt sorry for him boxedin

Howard Kendall (as manager). Broke up a young, dynamic team consisting of 6 under 21s

Replaced Them with the likes of "inchy" heath, Wayne Clarke and neil (disa) pointon

Oh, and he refused to play Colin hendry because machin had signed him

Utter tool - was delights when he fked off. Just a shame he got anywhere near the club in the first place

I was going to list a few dishonourable mentions but am worried about getting RSI
Do you have a selective memory?

The Machin team was on the verge of relegation, Kendall turned them into top 6 contenders!
Neither of your assertions is correct, but then that is to be expected, given your posts on the City thread

Machin was sacked in Autumn and we weren't even in the bottom 3 - shortly after the Rags had been beaten 5-1 and one week after signing Colin Hendry. Kendall refused to play Hendry and broke up a good time to give his washed up Everton has beens a final pay day.

Still, back in 89 you probably wanted Ferguson sacked ...

You may want to research the history of your club, or you'll look like you've jumped on the Sheik bandwagon.

Here's the table, the week Machin was fired.

And here's what the washed up old Everton has-beens achieved:

And silence..

To quote your own post in the City thread 'don't even know your own club'

Did your support start when the Sheik rocked up with his billions by any chance?

See, I was living in Manchester during that era and still remember the pain of the 5-1, and still remember finishing lower than City in the league.

Back then, the fans were calling for Machin's head on a pole.

As a North East lad I can only recall the local ones. (But Carlton Banks has named all the Newcastle lot and a damn sight more than I could ever recall)

There was a few for Sunderland;

  • Brian Roy (yeah, who?)
  • Carsten Fredgaard (Peter Reid could only describe him as 'Fast as fk, Fast as fk'. Yeah Peter he might well be but that is where his attributes start and end)
  • Nicolas Medina (spent his time at Sunderland on a drip)
  • Milton (Tyson) Nunez (Peter Reid saw him on a video but signed the wrong player. On a 3 year deal. Sunderland's own Ali Dia)
  • Gareth Hall (only player to be voted the worst player by the club's fans of two clubs he played for)
Middlesbrough;
  • Too many to mention
As a Spurs fan I should know that blonde waste of space on page 8. I do know who it is but I can't remember. Arrrrggghhhh.

Any Spuds NOT choosing this legend are way off...

Paulo Tramezzani. He was wk. I am a Spurs fan so I could name them until I was blue in the face as I think we certainly more than met our quota of average Johnny Foreigners.

Willem Korsten (yeah, who?)
Oyvind Leonardsen (might have been average at best at Wimbledon but anywhere else he was useless)
Jason Dozzell (lazy, slow, thick)
Darren Caskey (his apparent potential outweighed his ability by about the same weight as a planet)
Ramon Vega (even while I am typing this he is annoying me)
Gomes (I think we bought the wrong PSV keeper)
Moussa Saib (Algerian. Think he married one of the staff's daugher. Or something. Why else would he come over and get a game?)
Espen Baardsen (zero clean sheets and retired at 26 when he went mental. Like literally mental)
Hossam Ghaly (just because you have had your teeth kicked out at Portsmouth does not make you a Spurs legend)

The devastatingly effective Paolo Tramezzani. 6 memorable appearances. st in every one, so legend has it.
