Was this the incident when Gomez put the ball down for a free kick & Nani poked it in for them ?

Can't see any spurs players there waving any imaginary cards

Messcotti, you might be able to help.
It says onthe barca site, 8000 fans give up their ticket before the game.
I need 3 tickets for the Malaga game. Booked flights and apartment already.
What's the odds on getting 3 tickets next to eachother off the official site in the next few weeks?
Best thing to do is contact them. Should be ok for a game against Malaga to be fair, they will be able to assist, and if it's not near a sell out, go down to the ground on the day of the game and you can get tickets in the ground (opposite club shop) or at the Gol Sud, outside of the ground, there are small ticket booths....

Can also try La Caixa (bank) once you get there, they sell official tickets...

Failing all of that, there are companies online that will sell tickets, go for one based in Barcelona and you'll only pay a few Euro over the ticket price and can pick it up locally.

HTH!

Have you been to Barcelona before? Where are you staying?

Thanks for the help. Staying just off Las Ramblas. Paid a chunk of money for the 3 of us in an apartment and now i'm thinking it may not be the best place to stay?
I've been to Barcelona before but just for the day, one of the other lads has been for a couple of days. We'll probably just have a wander about as apart from the game we have 2 days to do things. Usual tourist stuff probably and hopefully be able to head the beach for a few hours smile
Any recommendations on things to do?

Hell, yeah! :-)

Is it on the Gothic quarter (right hand side of Las Ramblas as you look at the map)? No matter, just off Las Ramblas is fine TBH, you're near to pretty much everything or an underground line to get there! :-)

Favourites are; Sagrada Familia,

Park Guell,

Casa Batlló,

Santa Maria Del Mar (this is where I got married) in the fashionable Born district (eat and drink in this area, better fare, less touristic and full of locals!), Do the Cable Car to Montjuic, the beach is great! There's also Poble Espanol on Montjuic that's worth a tour around - it shows the different areas of Spain and there are bars/Tapas etc in there.

Also if you are that way inclined there is La Terazza in Poble Espanyol - it's an open air, all night club...watching the sun rise when you're still on the G&T's is fantastic! :-).

There's Plaza Real just off Las Ramblas, gerat for people watching with a few Estella's (The local lager - it's BRILLIANT!)

Top tip is buy a one day bus tour and do that in a day - its a hop on/off so you can get to all of the above and back to Plaza Catalunya! :-)

Eating; Els Quatre Gats is worth a visit, even just for the history (and buy a ceramic beer mug!).

Cervecería Catalana (clle Mallorca) is fantastic - if you can get a table!

Down in Born (clle Argenteria) there's Taller de Tapas - my new favourite! Also Bubo on the Plaza where the Santa Maria del Mar is!

Tickets is the new venture from El Buli founder Ferran Adrià and his brother Albert. Not been yet, you'd have to book. Search online for the website and have a look at the menu - it's not everybody's cup of tea!

AVOID eating on Las Ramblas!! It's generally terrible and over priced!

Drinking; Anywhere you like! Especially in El Born!

Have a beer on Las Ramblas by all means, it's a great people watching activity - but be prepared to pay over the odds for the beer!

Hard Rock Cafe (surprisingly) is really good in Barcelona - I've never been in another one that I've enjoyed! This is on Plaza Catalunya.

Bosc de los Fades - near the bottom end of Las Ramblas, next to the Wax Museum - it's a mad wee place!

That's about all I can think of for now, give me a shout if you have anything in mind or something more specific! :-)

Enjoy, Visca el Barca!

Woah! I really appreciate that. How much do you charge for a guided tour biggrin
I'm going to print all that off as it looks pretty much like everything what we're into.
When we went to Barcelona last time my dads mate wandered off for 30 mins whilst we were eating. He came back and he said he'd had a boot(?) of beer.
He'd sat down on the ramblas, ordered a beer, finishes it goes to pay and gets charged 20 euro haha! He got stung again outside Barcelona train station by ordering 3 plates of chips, the waitress said 5 euros, he thought this is cheap. When he goes to pay it was 15 euros in total hehe
I really can't wait now. The two times i've been have only been for the day. Looking forward to going for 4 days and seeing everything it has to offer biggrin

To be on topic. Barcelona v Chelsea in the semi final and Real v Bayern.
I think it's going to be a Spanish final. I really cannot see Bayern beating Real.

Yeah, the €20 beer makes me smile, especially when you see the face on the punter who's just got the bill....but it is a Stein Glass...so over 2 pints...redface

Best tip I can give is learn the basics: Gracias, Por Favor, Hola, Adios, La cuenta por favor (the bill please), tres cerveca por favor (three beers please!), favourite one is "oiga!" which is how you informally get the waiter(ess)'s attention. It sounds rude, but trust me it's not.

Rude words? I know a few of those, too! ;-)

No problem....I love the place and want everyone to enjoy as much as possible.

One other thing; it's a major European city - watch out for pick pockets - it's not a Barcelona thing, but it's prevelent on Las Ramblas because of the sheer volume of people on the strip...keep wallets etc in front pockets and don't leave mobiles etc on tables. Worst are the wee gypsy kids who try to sell you yesterday's newspapers...they are masters of slight of hand and if you leave a camera or phone etc on the table, they'll be off with it before you've even noticed!

Getting to Camp Nou - Take the underground from Plaza Catalunya, it's cheap and a 5 minute walk from the station to the ground. Take the GREEN LINE (L3) to Palau Reial...

Back on topic; I actually would have preferred Benfica to Chelsea.... we generally struggle against they Chelsea style of play.

The other Semi? I'd LOVE to see Bayern get to the final for three reasons;
1) I hate RM
2) I hate Jose Moureen-ho
3) I think Bayern are a properly run club and deserve it!

Hopefully coming from Liverpool we are pretty streetwise smile
Oiga cammarero wink Must have been to Spain about 40 times now so now basic spanish smile I should have done it GCSE and A level but chose french instead.

I wouldn't mind Bayern beating Real too. I'd like to see a Bayern v Barcelona if Barca beat Chelsea. Having watched the el classico it must have been about 6 or 7 times they've played eachother over 2011 and 2012?
So Bayern Barca would be an interesting game.
Who do you think will win La Liga? 6 points in it with Real having to go the Camp Nou. It's going to go to the wire biggrin

It would be a good game I think!

To be honest, we'll know more by next weekend. Barca have Zaragoza (A) & Getafe (H) this weekend and mid-week ...RM have Valencia (H) & Atletico M (A). We both have an "easy" game the following weekend and then the big one the week after. After that game they play Seville (H) and we have Rayo (A)....so those 6 points could be overturned quite easily, if RM take the eye off the prize. It's still theirs to lose!

No way. Not at all. I really appreciate every single thing you've told me. Many people wouldn't know the basics and some people are just plain ignorant biggrin
Would you agree that Barcelona haven't been the same away from home this season? I wouldn't be able to say how many but I'd guess that they've dropped most of the points that Real Madrid have taken advantage of, away from home.
Any theories why this is? I know the home ground is something else and home support is amazing but if I looked at the results this season I'd probably expect to see Barca drawing or scraping wins away when they would probably demolish the team at the Nou Camp?
What do you think of the likes of Thiago and Sanchez? Will they turn out to be key players in the future of Barcelona?

Edit : Just counted the amount of points Barcelona have lost away from home. 16. Mostly draws but thats still a lot of points lost for a team like Barca.

Yeah, it's the draws that are the difference! We've both lost 2 games and we've only dropped 2 points at home (Against Seville - Messi missed an injury time Pen!) so it's our travels (where we were SO strong last year) that's let us down.

To be honest, I really can't put my finger on it...the pitches are not always the best, not watered etc (as in Milan) so makes our style harder to play...other than that, I'd say missing key players at key times! Villa out for 2nd half of season is the main one, but Alexis, Cesc, Pique, Puyol, Abidal, Iniesta, Adriano all had spells out...then there's Affalay also - I'd say that squad size is also a problem, however with the likes of Thiago (Who will be the next "Xavi" in the midfield), Tello, Cuenca, Muniesa, Bartra etc all coming through, next season might not be as tough...

However, the league is by no means over, a few weeks ago it was 10 points and nobody thought RM would draw 2 on the trot!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/apr/28/cha...

Ballack and Alex should have had 2 yellows, dodgy pen appeal and a stonewall turned down!

Conspiracy theory my Cule....but when it goes against an English team.........!

A third of the goals. 59 this season. Crazy tally that is.
Going to end up about 4 or 5-1 here.
Can't see a 10 men Zaragoza team keeping Barca out for 45 minutes.
