Really what says in the title, the game was abandoned due to serious head injury to one of the Accrington players. Ominously, there doesn't seem to be to much information on any of the websites or Sky Sports News.

Anyone know whats happening? Hopefully its going to be ok as it does not sound good.

According to Talksport

18year old Tom Bender of Accy collided with a couple of other players in pen box. Down for about 30mins with suspected broken neck.

BBC now reporting that he has come round in the ambulance on the way to hospital which sounds good but that report of a broken neck does not. frown

Just seen this on Twitter, doesn't sounds good, let's hope he can pull through.

He's apparently in a stable condition in hospital.

Daily Soovy has a picture which seems to show Bender getting a knee to the back of the neck/head, totally accidently.

(contains slightly not nice picture.)

Which, if Qi is to be believed, is physically impossible. Still, nothing like being sensationalist, is there?

Hope he recovers soon.

Latest update after a scan SSN reporting he's been very lucky and only got a concussion!

25 mins on the pitch and on a drip in the ambulance, sounded very very nasty.

Hope he makes a full recovery

BBC now reporting this and that he was apologising to the nurses about the state of his socks! Hopefully his condition seems to be a lot better than first feared.

Good. thumbup

Do we know what actually caused it in the end then? I heard he took a punch off his own keeper... ouch!
